I was trolling over at Yahoo Answers and see that there are various questions and replies from alleged military members and spouses claiming that they got their LES (not true, LESs come out at the end of the month) and that it shows half pay.
Most of the folks asking and responding have signed up today..... 2 reasons that I think this is a troll campaign:
1. I was in during the 95 shut down and we got our pay.
2. Why would DFAS issue ½ pas LESs if there is no shut down
yet.
When I tried to reply, the questions ere quickly “resolved” so that no more replies could be added.
Sounds like B. S. to me also.
Been gone and have not log in awhile but my active duty wife checked her pay and yes, she will only get paid up to April 8.
I know we have lots of active duty Freepers who can check DFAS. I’m curious. The number of new YA! posters with 7 or 8 April sign up dates posting over there has me concerned...
Here is one 8 Apr sign up accepting the answer of another 8 Apr sign up in quite a hurry: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ap9t_piAaEe1n.Ep_VIzNVDsy6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20110408091508AAYW04B
Questions are usually open for 4 days to a week before being resolved.
What is the pay date? Usually is would be the 15, but I'm hearing the pay date is the 11th.
I’m on another web site with some active guys -
Yes - mid-month LES shows 1/2 pay for the period.
Just checked my LES, I’m indeed only receiving half pay. LES are generated once a month but on the 15th you recieve a pay stub identifying your mid month pay...I’m getting half
Well...surprising.
I wonder why this was done when there has been no shut down.
By the way, the paychecks are showing âpostureâ or meaning, “you will get paid when we feel like appropriating the funds”. The kicker is “they” are promising to partially pay you for the 9th-15th, but at the same time saying don’t count on getting your full amount any time soon, or not guaranteeing even partial pay in there is a shut down.
2 sons in the Army have confirmed LES’s are for 1/2 pay in anticipation of a shutdown
âpostureâ= “posture”
This sucks. All the military folks ought to be getting all their friends and family to swamp the white house and congress with complaints. THAT would be quite a distraction you bet.
Exactly.
Yes. I went into MyPay and my LES is showing roughly 1/2.
Here is part of the message from our FM (Finance):DFAS systems was told by their lawyers no pmts past the 8th. For those with duty projected from the 9th forward, DFAS is paying everything they are allowed, thru the 8th, and setting up pmts for beyond that to release just as soon as they are given the go-ahead.
Now...I don't mean to be harsh on you...but I've been battling this on FR for the last month with "know-it-all" Freepers who just insisted that the military would get paid...and those of us IN the military (especially those of us in senior leadership) tried to tell them "NO WE WON'T." But we could not get it through their thick heads. They kep saying it was propaganda...White House Lies....BS...The military will get paid because they are essential....even though we had all seen the guidance that said otherwise.
Sorry to vent...but perhaps if more people had paid attention EARLIER instead of insisting that they knew better...would could have avoided this. And if we couldn't have...the House couldhave passed the Defense Bill and the public MIGHT have been a little more aware and we could have beat BHO over the head with it.
Glad most here are finally catching on.
All I can say is that the Praetorian Guard were individuals to be eventually feared by those in high positions with a penchant for corruption and deceit that ignored or took advantage of their service. Of course, just saying this for historical purposes and for the promotion of further studying the instability of leadership in various stages of post republic ancient Rome. Pax Romana (I will give Gibbon’s description) change rapidly due to perpetual corrupt Emperors taking the helm...
Same for Navy Fed...
