Freep a Poll! (or not, as this is poorly worded. Congessional approval for Libya fight?)

Should Obama Go to Congress on Libya Strikes?

Yes. Only Congress can declare war.

No. It's too late, and unnecessary in this case, to seek congressional approval.

Obama doesn't need to -- but still should bring lawmakers into the discussion.

When was the last time the U.S. declared war?

An example of a poorly worded poll.

Maybe "Should obozo have gotten Congress's approval before striking Libya" woulf work better.

Thankd to GopherBroke for this one, though it is a poorly worded one. Fox should know better.

FREEP THIS POLL ***PING!*** FRmail me if you want to be added or removed from the Fearless Poll-Freeping Freepers Ping list. And be sure to ping me to any polls that need Freepin', if I miss them. (looks like a medium volume list) (gordongekko909, founder of the pinglist, stays on the list until his ghost signs up for the list)

This is poorly written. Obummer does not need congressional approval. It is customary for the Pres to at least have the congressional leaders in for a meeting to explain what he is doing and sway support for the mission. Phoning it in from the beaches of Rio is pretty poor. I would like to see Kadaffy dead for Pan Am, but this idiot is screwing this up from the word go.

I refuse to participate in that poll. It was written by an idiot or a traitor.

0bangbang brought a handful of partisan hacks to the WH for 90 minutes and then announced his "plan," such as it is, before any of them said a word about it. That is not Congressional participation.

From the War Powers Act of 1973

The constitutional powers of the President as Commander-in-Chief to introduce United States Armed Forces into hostilities, or into situations where imminent involvement in hostilities is clearly indicated by the circumstances, are exercised only pursuant to (1) a declaration of war, (2) specific statutory authorization, or (3) a national emergency created by attack upon the United States, its territories or possessions, or its armed forces.
