Not a good picture of Ingrid Bergman gracing the review. I dont remember seeing this movie before. According to Crowther not something to regret, especially.

Anything that reminds me of Ingrid Bergman is a good thing.
Scanned the review, saw the word “marplot”. What the hell does that mean?

The movie sounds like a pretty good description of the sad affliction of bi-polarism with touches of paranoia.....less understood 5-6 decades ago than today.
It's interesting to speculate that the film would be viewed and critiqued in a different light today....and that it may have been made before its time.

Also, a weirdly interesting story about the sister of Ephraim Zimbalist, Jr. getting a divorce. That guy was a good actor in a lot of detective/cop roles. '77 Sunset Strip' and later'The F.B.I.'
Very interesting family - Father was a famous violinist and very wealthy; the mother was an opera star.
Has to be the same family. From the short story, it sounds like the sister married a real "cad."

You just made me want to go home a watch Casablanca in 1080 upscale from DVD.
When she is sitting on the couch in Paris with Bogart - she shines.
Sorry folks - just day dreaming.
