Repeal of Dont Ask Don't Tell will have consequences

23 Years into a military career I can say I have seen a lot. I have seen good and bad decisions of military and political leaders but have come away with one very important understanding of what their decisions do when it comes to life in the military...many of their changes are forever lasting.

I was inducted in the mid eighties. When I went through pilot training in the 1990s they used the Chaplains to start several "conversations" with all of us. One on religious "tolerance" and the other on sexuality, read gay tolerance.

In the religious tolerance we had to be instructed as to why our nation must tolerate wiccans and more now being officially recognized and that it was okay, or even "good" for us to do so. It is "in-line" with our governmental outlook and our constitution.

While just my opinion here, though a conversation can prove my point, not all religious activities or religions would come under constitutional protection. I am sure the "Nature Worshiping" wiccans’ would all tell us of how they do not reach that level. Okay, I get it, but why must I be "indoctrinated about this? Seems to me, especially lately, that I as a military officer am doing a much better job at supporting and defending the US Constitution than many of our very own political leaders.

As for the homosexual agenda, I am very angry about how this is being rolled out. First was DADT. The compromise that opened the door. To trouble, that is, in my opinion. iT allowed people to come in and as long as we did not ask them and they did not tell (or demonstrate) us that they were gay it would simply be the conversation we did not have to have or act upon.

However, now, that is over. The homosexual community has been salivating over this win for a long time. Every time, in every state and in every corner of the nation they have demanded government legitimization of their choice of lifestyle by pushing for gay marriage. Its not for a civil right, its not for "legal" issues, its for their state sponsored legitimizing, period. They have lost every time and in some states, multiple times. They will judge shop until they win. However, in the State Department they have had a sympathetic friend in Hillary Clinton. By dictatorial power she simply said all benefits would be given to gay people and their "partners" To hell with DOMA. She was disregarding the intent of federal, constitutionally supported, law before our President said to hell with it.

What now will happen is that I will be forced to use the same facilities of avowed gay men and have ZERO recourse because the training I just took specifically said there will be no separate facilities. So, I guess I should just start using the ladies room. Please, don't simply dismiss this, it is a problem. For the same reasons of sexual tension appropriateness that I would not be in a ladies room gay men and straight men should not use the same facility when the activity may require exposure.

It is utter crap to tell me "Hey, when you did not know it wasn't an issue, why is it now." Simple, because I know. If I saw that a guy was in the locker room all the time and always saw me in a state of undress and I found out it was actually a woman I would be just as mad. Do not pretend to tell me it does not matter, it does.

More important is the subversion to follow. Clearly stated in our training is that the DOD official policy towards religious beliefs was that it was NOT going to demand or command a change in our beliefs. Yeah...for now.

If you are stupid enough to believe that the very people who have lied and battled this long and hard to get what they want for a choice that has never proven in any way shape or form to be an innate human characteristic you are just that...stupid. You are a dupe that works with those would undermine many aspects of our national culture all in the name of feeling good while acting stupid.

Regardless of your emotional feelings on the issue this is a troublesome issue that will, in the end, be the keystone removal of a foundation of religious freedom that will, in the United States of America, see people eventually jailed for teaching their children, correctly, that homosexuality is a sin. Even at worst, standing against homosexuality is just an opinion held by people but it will be used as a hammer of hate-speech accusation that will see the end of religious freedom as we know it.

TOPICS: Military/Veterans; Religion; Society
KEYWORDS: agenda; dadt; homosexual; military
I will be standing against these new policies. I will demand the facilities issue be addressed. I will NEVER yeiled my religious beliefs in the name of political correctness no matter what their associated costs.

We lost this war when good, normal parents allowed sex education and sexual orientation to be taught to their children in the schools, starting at the elementary level.
Those children have come of age, if their own sexuality has not been perverted, they do not know how to discern between good and evil.

I could not agree with you more.

I would also like to see one of these gutless politicians, who claim to be against homosexuals in the military, BEGIN to address the health issues of gays in the military. I have said this before (and written it to my congresscritters), and I will say it again: the images in movies, such as Saving Private Ryan and Blackhawk Down, of soldiers up to their elbows in an injured soldiers blood are a battlefield reality. Can ANYONE guarantee that no soldier will be sent “downrange” HIV-free? Given what we ask of our soldiers and sailors, do we have the RIGHT to ask THIS of them, as well? To survive the fighting, only to be killed by AIDS 10 years later? THIS is a GOOD thing for those who support this abomination?

By all means, repeal DADT....but also repeal any regulations that allow homosexuals in the military. Period.

Ice — I enlisted as an Army Medic in June of 1969. when we were given the diversity of religious choice of being declared Protestant,Catholic,Jew ,or nothing at all. We were not told about the goat staring,Occult sponsored top secret experiments with the Church of Satan that I now believe opened wide the door to this present policy.Like too many Americans who claim to be Christian I knew more about what I was not than what I ought strive to be. I did not have much time for Bible STUDY. The Army trained us to consider the writings and General Orders issued by men like General Washington, and President Adams, and their peers to better defend against the Soviet communist and all enemy foreign or domestic. Amongst what we were taught was of the Court Martial of Lieutt. Enslin of Colo.Malcoms Regiment March 10,1778 Exclusion was both the policy and the rule—and homosexuality was under American Law NOT compatible with Military service. Religion,Morality ,and Knowledge were the principles codified by Congress in the twice passed Northwest Ordinance. And IMO we were a much better Country when we were yet guided by those principles deemed necessary to good government. But as Col Ronald D.Ray USMC Ret. said in the early 1990’s IT will be the Patriot,The Military Officer or enlisted what will restore Duty ,Honor ,and Country.Thank You,Sir for your service.( I only did 7 plus seven and a wakeup.June 2569-Jan.25,1977)

Only part I can add is IMPEACH and REMOVE any mere politician who supports sodomy in the Military and /or will NOT defend Marriage as the relationship under God of one man and one woman in Holy Matrimony as the supreme Court put it in Murphy v. Ramsey and Others 1885.None of this communistic crap we’ve been force-fed since we allowed the Court kick God,the Bible, and prayer form school.(To make the atheists feel accepted -and respected)

Excellent post. Thank you for your service to our country. I served proudly during the seven years of Reagan, but I couldn’t stomach Bush Sr. as my Commander-in-Chief, so I decided not to re-enlist and got out of there before it went to hell in a hand-basket. Anyway, that’s another story.

Yup, nothing like a lame-duck senate shoving the putative “repeal” of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell up the tail-end of the military.

I say “putative” because an actual “repeal” would put everything back to the way it was before the DADT policy was put into effect by Billy-bob-Clinton. Obviously, this is not a repeal but a furtherance of the gay agenda. You see, they ARE changing the very definitions of words you thought you knew the meanings to. It is the libtard way; if you can’t change their minds, change their words...

One does wonder why, if Libtards are so concerned with promoting a sexually perverse lifestyle, they haven’t started offering sensitivity training for those of us who also oppose such things as infidelity, zoophilia, pedophilia, incest, necrophilia, etc.

Furthermore, I am at a loss as to how it is that a heterosexual member of the military can still be court martialed under Article 125 of the UCMJ for anal sex with his wife, yet queers get *ahem* a backdoor pass on this one. In essence, what they are saying to the military is that queers are a privileged class of sexual perverts and heterosexuals should just bend over, shut up, and enjoy the ride. Wonderful, just wonderful…

I’ll make a prediction right here and now: The military will be forced to eliminate—or, at the very least, modify—the language contained within Article 125 of the UCMJ—thereby furthering our slide into the Godless pit of Liberal decadence.

Erratum: “during the seven years of Reagan” should actually read “during the LAST seven years of Reagan”

Cheers

Great post. I’m afraid there will have to be a revolution before we are able to rid ourselves of pro-sodomite policies.

Don't worry, they're all next on the list. The gate is now wide open.

Thank-you Ice-Flyer for your service!

Exactly correct. What makes their perversion so sacrosanct ? If someone likes unnatural congress with chickens, this same logic says "we must respect their lifestyle choices".

BS !

I do not and will not "respect their lifestyle choices". While I acknowledge their right to make such choices, they have no right to force anyone to "respect" those choices as "right" or "equal" or "moral".

The fact is, they're not !

If you think homosexuals in the military is bad (and it is) just wait till women hit the front lines.

A Nancy Pelosi-sponsored commission report recently endorsed putting women soldiers in combat. About 70 percent of the American people favor putting women on the front lines. When that happens, we’ll have far bigger problems than homosexuals whistling at each other in the showers.

The liberals are not only destroying the health care system. They are destroying the military.
