A brawl broke out on a New York City subway car after one passenger apparently got upset over another passenger eating a big container of spaghetti on the crowded car.
The video was posted to YouTubeand first reported by nyctheblog. The user who uploaded it says that it involved a Brooklyn train. There is no indication of what line it happened and what day it took place.
In the video, which contains profanity, starts with some arguing. Then one woman says, "What kind of animals eat on the train?"
The woman eating the spaghetti responds, "What kind of fat ****** looks like you?"
The back-and forth continues until both women stand up and get in each other's faces. Then the spaghetti went flying and the two passengers start a physical confrontation. Other people on the broke up the fight but the back and forth continues until the video ends.
Six months ago I moved from the Midwest to a town in Connecticut only 45 minutes from NYC. I have found most NYers to be rude, semi-literate, boorish, arrogant, and pushy. The odd thing is that when you cross the border into CT people instantly become friendlier, not that CT is anywhere near as civil and down-to-earth as the Midwest.
What’s wrong with eating in the bathroom as you poop?
You read a book and eat a sandwich as you poop, shower, then go to bed.
That’s one heck of a relaxing way to spend 3-5 hours! No one bothers you, either.
:-P
No, I expect people to do things like that when I fly. It is within the bounds of decency, although perhaps not as courteous behavior as you would expect. The one thing that causes me physical illness is being confined in a public area where a woman has on too much perfume. Enough to produce burning nose, nausea and migraine, but I would never take it upon myself to complain about it to a stranger.
Does Jared know that Subway now serves Spaghetti?
So, apparently the vote is 3-0 in favor of “curmudgeon”...
Yeah, wadda YOU know? ;-)

Bravo! Bravo!
That's how I saw it as well.
We didnt see the whole incident, so maybe the two younger women did single her out and insult her first, but it really looks like she just picked a fight.
Exactly. People need to keep this fact in mind when watching these types of youtube videos. The cameras never get turned on until after the first exchange took place. As such, all these videos leave a very important element out of the story; who started it.
That was horrible.
Is there a law against eating on a NYC subway car? If there is, then the whining woman has a point. If not, the offended woman is a big buttinsky.
"..Section 1050.6
Use of the transit system
".6. No person shall bring or carry onto a conveyance any liquid in an open container .."
Spaghetti has a worse mess potential than most liquids, but the rules did not prohibit eating or food in an open container.
Throwing the Spaghetti at a person is definitely against the rules and the law.
Come out to the eastern part of the state (CT). We’re a little more ‘Midwestern’ in that sense, though we can still be a bit cold at first.
Its funny, when I lived in CA, I was surprised how people just basically ignored you. I’d go to the same store 1 or 2 times a week for years, and often end up with the same checkout woman. I always tried to be chatty and she’d just look at me like I had an arm growing out of my head.
I moved back to CT, and within a month of doing the same here, the checkout woman recognized me on sight, and was chatty right back.
