Not Guilty by reason of Good Looks.(sarc)

She gets cited for “unlawful transaction with a minor”... whatever that means. She gave him alcohol and had sex with a kid. Why does our criminal justice system slap a female pedophile on the hands but charges the male? This is just wrong.
To: decimon

Since I know everyone wants to see the culprit. I find this sad for her, for her students, and for her family.

There sure are a lot of these incidents. Does anyone have a statistic comparing sex abuse by government school teachers with the abuse by clergy? I notice that there is no national outrage against the teachers — each incident is considered isolated, and not symptomatic of a deeper problem.

Manual students we spoke with had nothing but kind words for Shafer, the former advanced biology teacher. Officer, it was nothing more than after-school tutoring. Honest.

Women pedophiles always get a slap on the wrist while men are put away for 20 years. Here's another one that gets me.

"...the former advanced biology teacher." Sounds as though she was performing above and below the call of duty.

Women pedophiles always get a slap on the wrist while men are put away for 20 years. Here's another one that gets me. I see the two crimes as completely different. An adult man who seduces a female student (or a male student) is far more likely to be successful only because of the difference in power. An adult woman who seduces a student is far more likely to succeed because it's what the student would want regardless of whether it's his teacher or a total stranger. Both should lose their jobs and go to jail, but the man's crime is usually worse in fact, and he should go to jail for far longer.
