when a particularly tasteless tweet started rolling around the web last night, and I found out it had been written by Family Guy scriptwriter Alec Sulkin, I wasnt too surprised. Heres what he said: "If you wanna feel better about this earthquake in Japan, google 'Pearl Harbor death toll'.
This world view, that the citizens of a nation are somehow statistics to be tallied in a historical spreadsheet of deaths, and that theres somehow a desirable, karmic distribution to be had is absolutely disgusting.

Whether it does, or not, is quite beside the point.
Japan today is a far, far different culture from what it was before WWII. I’m told there is a statue of Gen. MacArthur in Tokyo on which there is inscribed “Liberator.”
I spent the winter of 1945-46 in various cities in Japan (as a very junior Naval person), and was amazed at the friendliness; even ex-soldiers that I encountered, still wearing much of their uniforms (without insignia) did not display any rancor; a buddy and I wandered around Kobe (much of it a fire-bombed disaster scene) all by ourselves at night, feeling quite safe. I got the feeling that the Japanese were about as glad as we that the war was over, and ready to move on to a better way of life and democratic government.
I’m sure we pretty much evened that score by the end of WWII.
Leftists are nothing but evil filth. I said it before and I’ll say it again: leftists have absolutely NO redeeming human qualities.
They are pure evil and should be treated like a lethal plague.
Obama would only mention Japan if it somehow brought attention to him. Obama is focused on and cares for Obama.
Indeed. Those who were responsible for Pearl Harbor paid the price. Done. Finished.
I completely agree that the deaths of innocents are not something to be compared on some kind of sick spread sheet, but during yesterday’s broadcasts the qudience was reminded that the 2004 tsunami killed 230,000 people. Nearly a quarter-of-a-million people wiped out in the virtual blink of an eye.
The caption on his statue roughly say "MacArthur, the Father of Japanese Democracy."
The funny thing is that this writer probably isn’t even anti-Japanese, per se. Rather, it’s his innate vileness, which is something that fully permeates “Family Guy” as well. The unending pursuit towards ‘hip edginess’ has pretty much led such supposedly creative artists to devolve from simple dark humor to the downright celebration of evil.
Pearl Harbor was an act of War, just as was the bombing of Tokyo (read up on the B-29 raids some time).
Those of us who grew up south of the Mason Dixon Line still hear people telling us "The war is over.", so let it be.But the horror the Japanese people are facing is far from over, and the aftershocks alone would be considered significant earthquakes in their own right, and would each be of a magnitude devastating in most parts of the world.
The tsunamis have caused untold loss of life and property, and the full count of the dead will never be known. Entire towns have been wiped off the map, and each aftershock of magnitude has the capability of causing more waves.
Now, I suppose every 'family' has one of those people, who no matter how much they embarass us by being stupid and insensitive, are still family, even though they are bad enough to start the rumors of having been switched at birth...
Liberals are the 'attic children' of our culture, at large, all competing for the title of villiage idiot.
I offer my condolences to and prayers for the Japanese people in this time of crisis, and apologize for the idiots in our culture who do not have enough sense to shut up and let people merely wonder if that is their status.
Wow....what a perfect expression for that guys humor—worth repeating....”Family Guy is about as funny as a bag of dead kittens.”
Reparations? Is this a quiz? It seems the Libs keep this meme handy next to the race card, but for them, 'meme' is a compound word...
I have a sick sense of humor. That is way over the top.
Perhaps Japan should purchase the Jackson/Sharpton insurance, get out of jail free, card.
“Compound word...”
LOL
Further proof I’m not missing anything in not watching that show.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
Intellectually, they have never grown beyond 14 years old.
Geeze, you must be nearing 100 years old.
