Okay, you have the munchies. So WHAT is your favorite snack food? I have several favorites, some of which are a bit exotic. Here are my favorite snack foods:
Hard salami---I had some tonight. Slices in a pack.
Ritz crackers.
Vegemite---I might be the ONLY American who likes that stuff but I love it. Problem is I had a West Coast source which I don't have since I moved back to Florida.
Kabanosi---Eastern European sausage unknown to most Americans. I prefer it dried. Very garlicky and goes great with beer.
Everything goes good with bacon
Lately it’s been Margherita pepperoni (stick, not pre-sliced) a nice sharp cheddar (has to be white not orange - regional thing) and Ritz wheat crackers with mustard.
(I need to stop doing this)
Maybe I’ll change over to Liverwurst, cheddar and mustard on a cracker.....
(no, that won’t help either....)
My favorite street snack from when I lived in Puerto Rico was bacalao frito...fried salt cod. Vendors sold them from carts and they were very inexpensive. Harder to find them here but when I see them, I always buy some.

Wichity grubs
Cheetos but never eat due to calories
Dirty Potato Chips Jalapeno Flavor also never eat same reason
Very thin sliced Tillamook extra sharp chedder cheeze.
mmmmmmmmmmmmm
Liverwurst and onion sandwiches.
If all the types of food in the world except one were to disappear, the one I would pick to save would be bacon.
Bacon. It is spoken for.
Seriously though, it’s celery sticks and ranch dressing for me. LOTS of ranch.
My Uncle used to go out into the Gulf of Mexico near Pensacola with several other guys and net fish. He would keep the mullet and give them the rest.
He was a terrible cook on most things but he had mullet down perfect. He would salt it and deep fry a whole bunch at a time. He would fry hush puppies in the same grease.
It was very very good. Mullet can be uncommonly good if fresh and cooked properly.
hard, dry salami and crackers.... the best
Chicharones with tabasco sauce.
There is a Vietnamese food store in Margate that I check out once in a while. I don’t know what most of the snacks are that they sell but they are incredibly tasty.
CHEEEEEESE!
Sorry, it’s not new :)
With beer (Sam Adams Summer Ale): salted soft pretzels (I add my own coarse Kosher salt). Oysters on the half shell.
With sweet tea: artichoke hearts on Bistro crackers or salt and peppered avocado slices. Tostito's restaurant style chips and spinach dip.
Thick bacon dusted with brown sugar and baked until candied. Pig Candy.
My Father liked liverwurst and onion sandwiches. He was the only one in our family of 7 who would even touch them.
If (when) I gain fifty pounds, I’m blaming you! ;-)
