Okay, you have the munchies. So WHAT is your favorite snack food? I have several favorites, some of which are a bit exotic. Here are my favorite snack foods:
Hard salami---I had some tonight. Slices in a pack.
Ritz crackers.
Vegemite---I might be the ONLY American who likes that stuff but I love it. Problem is I had a West Coast source which I don't have since I moved back to Florida.
Kabanosi---Eastern European sausage unknown to most Americans. I prefer it dried. Very garlicky and goes great with beer.
Old Dutch Potato chips.
I am on a Cheetos Cheese Puff bender. Can’t get enough.
I usually sate myself with rude remarks on silly vanities. But you, PJ, are a good guy, so I will leave you alone.
There’s a Filipino-based BBQ peanut snack food called Nagaraya that works well with beer. I also got hooked on the TGIF snacks Cheese Quesadilla w/c is only sold thru Rite Aid.
That looks like Kabanosi. I first tasted it in Puerto Rico when I was a kid. My father knew a Polish guy who was really into it and I got addicted to it that way. What I really like about the dried Kabanosi is the texture. It is crunchy but has a nice fatty texture inside.
Sometimes I like mild fried pork skins. At other times cheetos all three kinds about the same.
During the summer Heath flavored polar bars or just plain vanilla ones.
Just recently have had a craving for orange, peach, or blue berry yogurt.
I used to love various kinds of mixed nuts but my teeth are getting bad enough that chewing them is a bit troublesome.
I’m actually trolling for good snack ideas. I hate the idea of maybe a great snack food out there that I am missing out on.
Nutrageous candy bars.
Latin version is best...Chicharones.
For day-to-day snacking, nothing beats 'flavor-blasted' goldfish, with lemonade.
OK, I will play along. I like home-made hummos on lightly heated pita bread. Healthy (poor snack food), but if you add enough garlic you can keep obnoxious neighbors away.
One of the better regional snack foods is boiled peanuts.
They have to be green but fully developed. You have to boil them a long time with lots of salt.
Done right they are really tasty.
I’ve had it in Chicago....MMmmmmm.
Popcorn....cooked in grapeseed oil, and topped with real butter and salt.....now ya done it...going to go make some!
Cheddar popcorn, can’t get enough of it, on rare ocassion when I indulge.
