Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin clarified remarks posted on Twitter this week in response to a Supreme Court ruling in favor of a church that demonstrates at military funerals, saying she was making a point about a double standard on free speech, not that the group shouldn’t have the right to protest.
Her quote was interpreted by many news outlets, including The Daily Caller, to mean that she disagreed with the Supreme Court’s ruling, although in a new statement exclusive to TheDC, Palin said she agreed with the ruling in favor of the church.
“Obviously my comment meant that when we’re told we can’t say ‘God bless you’ in graduation speeches or pray before a local football game but these wackos can invoke God’s name in their hate speech while picketing our military funerals, it shows ridiculous inconsistency,” Palin told TheDC. “I wasn’t calling for any limit on free speech, and it’s a shame some folks tried to twist my comment in that way. I was simply pointing out the irony of an often selective interpretation of free speech rights.”

I love Sarah, want her to be our next president, but I don’t like her commenting on complex issues, such as this decision, with a tweet that necessarily reads like a text message from Willow. In that tweet, she actually expressly criticized this decision as lacking in common sense and decency. She didn’t say that this difficult but correct decision highlights how wrong the extremity of the Court’s interpretation of the establishment clause.

I knew exactly what she meant and said so yesterday but many anti-Palin people which includes the Media twisted her words - remember her LI Q&A session when she mentioned breastfeeding, the media went wild over that, and took it completely out of context. Remember her post Tucson video, that was taken completely out of context as well. Matter of fact, I can’t think of any speech, interview, Facebook post, or tweet that hasn’t been distorted.
That’s the way of the Media and we can’t allow FR trolls and Ron Paul supporters to lie about something to dictate what she meant about it

Palin has it half right. Hey I don’t agree with everything Palin says and does, but she is still the best conservative for the job of President.
The media got it wrong? Now THERE’S something new under the sun.
Remember her 57 States Facebook post? She inserted half a dozen or more mis-statements and flubs made by Obama that the media never reported on while they highlighted her saying "North" instead of "South" in an audio where she used the correct terms as well.
The commenters and I think some in the media made fun of what she said and called her an idiot for saying such things when she even pointed out that she was quoting Obama!
They missed the point entirely. But Sarah made her point quite well with humor.

The Alinskyites, O'Bunghole Moles, and chicken-sh*t Lefty Trolls (who haunt here without the sac required to announce their true allegiences) understand that ridiculing something you can't defeat goes a long way toward neutralizing its potency. Sadly, many PDS "conservatives" have adopted these same filthy, rancid tactics in assailing Sarah because, absent the deception inherent in that ploy, they have nothing else they could rationally hold against her.
When they ridicule and laugh at you, just smile a little smile to yourself... because in fact, all they have actually just done... is admitted that you were right.
