So I'm 50. I have a very smart, very beautiful daughter who is a junior in high school.
Every day, I wake up and say to myself "Crap. I'm still alive."
I feel like I've done my job. I have give birth to and raised an extraordinary human being. There's nothing I can do now to advance her career or life.
How much does God expect me to endure? When can I say "I've had enough?" At what point is it rational to jump off that bridge simply because one is tired of putting up with all the crap?

Update to this thread. Apparently this thread was just the OP’s idea of a joke or a way to get attention. See post #242. Just thought you all might like to know he is alive and why he didn’t respond to anyone.
Thanks for the update. Usually, those that post online usually don’t follow through. Maybe he really was depressed, but I agree he should have checked back in here.

Thanks for the update TigersEye. I know a lot of people stayed up all night, praying for this jackass. I didn’t, because I’ve already been burned by someone like that. But there were a lot of trusting people who invested their hearts and souls into this, who will be less trusting in the future. He/she hurt a lot of people. (”He” has claimed to be a father, but “she” also claims to have given birth.)
Many thanks for the update. To those of us who have watched a friend in a depressive death spiral the topic is a little touchy. We had a FReeper check out this way some years ago and it looked a lot like this. Don’t want to see that again. Best to you and thanks again.

I have a friend who made the mistake of calling her brother in another state and doing the, "I have no reason to live", BS and hanging up. He called me, at work, after he had called the police. Her one night of felling sorry for herself cost her a few thousand dollars for; ambulance, hospital and doctors. Some good came of it. She's been on the wagon for a year. Like I've all ways said, "Those who can't handle their liquor, should leave it for those of us who can."
And I have done just that since about 1979. Salud! LOL
Yeah, a friend and I figured this out that night based on the fact that an hour before he was yucking it up merrily on another thread.
Just think...if somebody *really* needs help in the future, this jackass just might cost that person their life because FReepers might remember being made sympathetic fools of.
