TIDE CHANGE

I got to the little pond just as the tide was starting in, nothing there yet but the Great egrets and Snowy egrets were fishing way out in the marsh. Nothing came in close but one Great egret. I moved back toward the pond and the White ibis came busting in.
The Ibis feed further up in the cordgrass and Spartina than the egrets, they seem to wait until the tide gets up in the vegetation some before they feed.
There is a cold front coming in, gray skies and spitting rain all day.

Great shots. I especially like the ring billed gulls.

That one gull looking at the camera sure has something on it’s mind... and it’s not good.

We gotta drive down there for a three-day weekend again this year. It was in the mix for last September until my dog and my gall bladder both croaked themselves in the same week. And I hope I can fish off the public pier on Anastasia Island this time without worrying about hooking some college kid in the ass and dragging him off his boogie board. What a nuisance.
"But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: for men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away, for his name is Obama."

So nice. Thanks for bringing us these beautiful birds. I didn’t have time to go out and shoot last weekend myself. This weekend should be better.

I wish that my dad was still alive to enjoy your beautiful bird shots. He was a bird lover and an amateur photographer with his own darkroom in his younger days.
Great photos, I always love them! Yours is the best ping list on FR.

I always feel like I’ve been on vacation after seeing your posts.
Beautiful!
Thank you, SWAMPSNIPER.

Beautiful pics. Thank you!
I saw a magpie today. Oh, and a small flock of starlings... eating seeds out of the snow drifts. If this gawd awful global warming and wind ever subside, I might consider taking the Nikons outside. For now, I fear frostbite and condensation. The batteries are now charged.
Waiting, waiting. Soon...

I feel like I’m vacation also and I only reside a few hrs away. Makes me ready to go fishing, play golf, and frollic in the sun. I’m ready. St. Marks Refuge gave me the chance for some great pics with gators last fall. I was within 5’ of them in the wild and didn’t have a care in the world. Ready for some redfish and trout...

Such beautiful pictures. This has not been a very good day. but looking at these pictures and putting myself there certainly is a great pick me up. They are so appreciated as are you for posting them.

Please add me to your ping list! You have the patience of Job to get shots like those. I wish I were a more patient photographer. You can’t be in a hurry to get photos like that. Kudos.
