TIDE CHANGE
SELF | March 01, 2011 | swampsniper

Posted on 03/01/2011 4:52:18 PM PST by SWAMPSNIPER

I got to the little pond just as the tide was starting in, nothing there yet but the Great egrets and Snowy egrets were fishing way out in the marsh. Nothing came in close but one Great egret. I moved back toward the pond and the White ibis came busting in.

The Ibis feed further up in the cordgrass and Spartina than the egrets, they seem to wait until the tide gets up in the vegetation some before they feed.

There is a cold front coming in, gray skies and spitting rain all day.

White Ibis, Eudocimus albus White Ibis, Eudocimus albus

Ringed-bill Gull, Larus delawarensis

Great Egret, Ardea alba

Absolutely beautiful! I love me some birdies!

As far as your cold front is concerned...we had that here in Oregon last week in the form of snow and ice. If any of our other fronts are strong enough to make it down your way, you are in for a nasty treat!

I hope they dissipate. It’s been very nasty here.

Actually I meant to say viewing GODs work through your handiwork is always a pleasure, but I need more coffee I guess.

Florida is a beautiful state, but I never did get used living with all the snakes...And the gators. Re-reading 'Alas Babylon' has made me wish I was back down there though.

Nice pictures.

There are many more dangerous animals in Massachusetts than in the deepest Florida swamp.

Well, we got black bear in the western bit they're and spreading, plenty of coyotes and coy-wolves throughout, moccasins, and of course the liberals. Oh, and all the criminals releases from prison by said liberals.

I’m not talking about dangerous animals in the woods. They’re honest and predictable.
