~Welcome To Sunday At Amy's Place~

The Choir Of Daffodils
By Fish Hawk

between the bare and knotted trees
in cadence with the mountain breeze
all nestled on a lakeside hill
there sang a choir of daffodils
their song was holy, full of praise
they did not have too many days
to sing their beauty to the Lord
as in their distance winter roared
their heads all bowed in reverence..
it's plain to see that their intents
to beautify the lakeside view
was put there, not by chance, for you

~Blessings To All Who Enter Here~

Ecclesiastes 3 -- A Time for Everything

1 There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under heaven:

2 a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot,

3 a time to kill and a time to heal,
a time to tear down and a time to build,

4 a time to weep and a time to laugh,
a time to mourn and a time to dance,

5 a time to scatter stones and a time to gather them,
a time to embrace and a time to refrain,

6 a time to search and a time to give up,
a time to keep and a time to throw away,

7 a time to tear and a time to mend,
a time to be silent and a time to speak,

8 a time to love and a time to hate,
a time for war and a time for peace.

good morning & I hope all have a great Lord’s day. I will be staying home. I had “back issues” last night & although I tried, got NO sleep. If I can catch a few hours this morning I might get dogs out a bit but right now am not in any shape to get to church

I loved your daff’s meg. That is probably what you & many are now seeing but we still have a lot of snow & ice & it is cold. Thus my post above which is reflective of what the “feeling “ is in NE Ohio. I want to now & then practice all the great HTML skills Billie taught many of us.

I am still going to movies often. Yesterday went with friend Dick to see Kill The Irishman. True story of irish gangster in 70s who took on the Italian mafia in Cleveland. Well done & good cast,

My date knew him from his days after high school of being a longshoreman when Greene was the union boss. Dick mentioned that one of the hit men that tried & missed to take out Greene is still “in the hit man business” & a member of his yacht club (geeze lousie). It is at limited screens across the USA & so might not be in your area.

Lots of good ones out there, I received as a V-day gift a very nice blu-ray & 32” TV (both Vizio).. ALso a couple movies. Can watch DVDs.. so with my bad back of late, I have done a lot of movies at home/theater, Internet & playing a new word game on my iPhone (like scrabble) called Words for Friends.

I need to get to chiro for help but with limited $$ since mom’s death find just paying bills is a challenge.

Dogs fine & Molly the computer cat keeps attentive by being on my keyboard during day & bladder at night

Missing mom. Just passed 5 months from her death. Speaking of anniversaries in a couple days I have my FR anniversary (2003) ... I KNOW.. a newbie next to many of you.

Been a bit nostalgic lately & thinking of many of my FReeper friends that have gone on to their reward. And many who have been banned or left on their own. Checking pings is next to nothing compared to what it was 5 years ago

Chocolate-Fueled Car
March 13, 2011

Many people like both the sweetness and the energy they get from chocolate. Yet British auto technicians have found a surprising use for this sweet food. Scientists at the University of Warwick have built a racecar that runs on vegetable oils and chocolate. The fuel provides energy so that the car can reach top speeds of 135 mph.

The Bible also records a surprising source of energy from a food. When Elijah had been used by God on Mt. Carmel to call fire down from heaven, this spiritual high was followed by persecution and melancholy. In response to Elijah’s depression, God sent an angel to provide food, drink, and rest for the weary prophet. The sustaining power of that food from heaven was remarkable: “So he arose, and ate and drank; and he went in the strength of that food forty days and forty nights as far as Horeb, the mountain of God” (1 Kings 19:8).

Just as we need food to sustain our physical lives, we also need nourishing food for our spiritual lives. God’s Word is “sweeter . . . than honey and the honeycomb” (Ps. 19:10) and feeds our souls. It makes “wise the simple” (v.7) and provides both nourishment and energy for life’s long journey. Take time to feed on it.

God’s Word provides the nourishment
That every Christian needs to grow,
Supplying strength from day to day
By teaching what we need to know. —Sper

God feeds us through His Word.

The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple. —Psalm 19:7

Thank you for the lovely graphic, this morning, Meg.
Fish Hawk, that is such a lovely poem!

Seven Daffodils (Click here)

The words to this song tell of a man who has nothing.
No mansion, no land, and no money.

But, he gives his lady
What God gives freely - the beauty of Nature.

Many years ago I was trapped on an island in a flood.
Many people's homes were totally lost, and it was devastating.
But, out of the mud, the next morning
(before rescue could get to us),
a crocus popped it's little head up,
Reminding me that life goes on,
and we have each other
and God's wonderous gifts.

Pray for the people of Japan,
That in spite of their losses
That a crocus or a daffodil
Will pop it's little head up
And remind them that there is beauty still -
With Nature's gifts to us all...
