Those dumb asses you see sitting in the audience do the voting.

>>LOL!! I remember that line. I think the last Oscar show I enjoyed was when Billy Crystal hosted and Jack Palance won for Best Supporting Actor. He came out and did the one armed push-ups.<<

OMG, thanks for the reminder! One of the BEST Oscars ever! IIRC, Crystal was doing riffs on classic films — “I am SO not Sparticus!”

And, after the one-handed push ups, Billie started each segment with a Palance “status report.”

Clearly, the bar has lowered to the subterranean since then.

I liked Christian Bale in “Rescue Dawn.” The movie was based on the true story of Dieter Dengler, U.S. Navy Pilot during Vietnam War who was shot down, captured and escaped prison in Laos.

Yes, Bob Hope was the best at self deprecating humor and making it fun.

Why does Kate Blanchette have a magic mirror affixed to her chest?

LOL!! I remember that line. I think the last Oscar show I enjoyed was when Billy Crystal hosted and Jack Palance won for Best Supporting Actor. He came out and did the one armed push-ups.

Hope did it for years - then Johnny Carson They ALWAYS did a GREAT job ...

After that, the ONLY one who did a GREAT job was Crystal. Tonight's movie parody rip-off of Billy Crystal at the beginning of the telecast sucked ...

They should get Crystal as permanent host - and get him a 20% interest in the New York Yankees as payment. I bet he'd go for that ...

One of the few movies I saw was The Town. I kinda liked that movie. The guy who played Ben Affleck’s pal was nominated in the best supporting actor category.

Kinda surprised because that movie didn’t get much attention, but he was very good in it.

I believe Chrystal refused to do it again as it takes so much time. However,he might feel differently today since he’s not so active in movies any more.

Here's hoping "The King's Speech" wins 'em all!

What a lovely movie! I would like to see Colin Firth win for Best Actor, and 'The King's Speech' for Best Picture. Sorry the speech therapist from the King's Speech didn't win. I didn't see The Fighter so I don't know how good Christian Bale was.

And, of course, something big like this cannot pass by without an appearance by Obamer.
