Here’s the story:
“We can’t control the weather,” Julie Vitek said in an interview from company headquarters in Houston, Texas. “We’re looking to see if we can cope with it more effectively, through the testing of a couple of techniques.”
She says the conditions in northern New Brunswick have wreaked havoc on the wind farm this winter.
“For us, cold and dry weather is good and that’s what’s typical in the region. Cold and wet weather can be a problem without any warmer days to prompt thawing, which has been the case this year.
“This weather pattern has been particularly challenging.”

Nothing wrong that more money won’t solve like putting heating elements in the blades and buying electricity from Mexico to power them...

Poor Coon. He’s confused. He thinks all “cold” climates are the same, even, presumably, the warmcold ones.
Smudgepots? I lit my share of them in one year to satisfy me for a lifetime. It’s probably why I prefer a gas grill...
Al Gore will be saying soon that this was caused by global warming.

I got a better idea. Return them to Suez.
My wife suggested building a small nuke plant near the windmills and plugging in a bunch of nuclear powered super heater/blowers and blowing them right at the windmills. Not only will it dethaw them but the wind generated will turn the blades and make it even cheaper to run the nuke plant!
With global warming, won’t these concerns become moot?
So wind power doesn’t work exactly when people are snowed or iced in and need power to keep from freezing to death?
