My wife suggested building a small nuke plant near the windmills and plugging in a bunch of nuclear powered super heater/blowers and blowing them right at the windmills. Not only will it dethaw them but the wind generated will turn the blades and make it even cheaper to run the nuke plant!

I was thinking they could spray the blades with some really expensive, noxious chemicals.

The problems are obviously not physically insurmountable, but the solutions are likely costly enough to make the installation unfeasible.
