UPDATE: For the past two days, thousands of workers have been gathering at the State Capitol in Madison, WI, to defend their rights in the workplace. From nurses to police officers, public sector workers and OFA volunteers have been protesting against proposed legislation to take away workers' rights to bargain collectively. With a vote on the legislation expected as early as today, volunteers are already gathering at the Capitol this morning. It's going to be a big day in Madison and you can follow updates throughout the day on the OFA Wisconsin Twitter feed.
Organizing for America is mobilizing on the ground in Wisconsin to defend the rights of public employees from an attempt by the governor to take away their right to organize.

Government jobs are NOT jobs, you morons.
Nobody cares if you lose your free-ride.
Obama has chosen sides. He has chosen the side of the union goons and wants to use them against us, the taxpayers to create havoc and chaos in the country.
Impeach Obama now!
"Some of what Ive heard coming out of Wisconsin, where youre just making it harder for public employees to collectively bargain generally, seems like more of an assault on unions," President Obama told TMJ4 in Milwaukee.
You didn’t really think it was just moms and dads all over Wisconsin come to gether didja?
and behind it all stands Obama -saying it’s an ‘assault’ on the Unions...
Time to implement the Ronald Reagan solution: Tell them they have to return to work in two days. If not, they’re all fired and deny unemployment benefits. Also, intimidation of state officials is not free speech when you’re trespassing on someoneâs private property, as protesters did by making the WI Senate leader flee his home for safety. Bring in the police, arrest the union thugs, and lock them up in the pokey with Bubba.
You’d be hitting 100% screwballs.
we have a president asking for the people to rise up and have mob rule while ignoring, laws and the constitution
isn’t this similar to the tactics of Chavez?
Other than substitute spots one must have an education degree. One must be properly indoctrinated before ever setting foot in a classroom.
When I went back to get another BS degree in computer sciences, we were forced to take two classes in another college department. I took mine in the education department. I have never seen so many lazy, complaining, and just plain dumb “professionals” in my life.
While my kids were in High School I did a lot of tutoring of my kid's classmates that were struggling (D's and F's) with math, science and economics. Not one finished out with less than a B. Biggest impact with economics was utilizing a rubber band and a paper clip. It is not that hard or magical to teach kids if you just get away from all the theoretical crap and latest greatest thing the education system is cramming down the publics throat.
Yes fire all of them that do not want to work and be judged by their results as all of us that are working in the real world are. Just make it possible for people that can teach and educate an opportunity to step in.
It is ridiculous that so many school systems require a BS in “education” to teach rather than taking advantage of someone’s knowledge.
Umm....these are public sector employees. The police are the union thugs.
Sometimes I just have to walk a way from the computer. This afternoon after posting I had to go walk a few dogs. I got to thinking about what we're witnessing.
Here we have a major group able to be mobilized by the President, DNC, and activists. Well funded too boot.
But they are not mobilizing to support the American public, the individual, the citizen...
Instead they support the taxman, the government and the taking of the very last bit of bread from our very mouths.
They are standing in front of us, in front of us, and demanding that slice of bread from your grandchild.
All with the blessing of The President. I can't grasp the upside down nature of what I am witnessing. The country is bankrupt, the states are bankrupt...and there they stand by the thousands demanding more.
They throw hundreds of millions at candidates who in turn grow their pay, retirement, benefits and numbers. Seems more like the mob to me.
On so many levels this seems illegal.
Fight for taxpayers and future taxpayers.
Fight for taxpayers and future taxpayers....
You got that right! America is NOT Europe. Americans are NOT going to stand by and let the gov’t drain them dry. We like to earn and KEEP our own money. These government leeches marching in Wisconsin are stirring up the unique American spirit that says “Don’t Tread on Me”
My wife and I are more than a little concerned because this is only the beginning. Scary.....
I am having a really difficult time with this.
Is it freedom of speech when a mob shows up at your home and one must take their family and flee for safety?
We are all struggling to make ends meet and they...they the are the face of the taxman...banging down the door to take the slice of stale bread.
There are certain public services we "need" to fund for the good of all society. All the rest is "like to haves" and redistribution of wealth.
