The logic behind president Obama's budget has one extremely sensible feature: it distinguishes between spending that simply adds to consumption, and spending that really does mean investment. His analogy over the weekend - that a family cutting a budget would rather not cut money for the kids' education - is a sound one. We do need more infrastructure, roads and broadband, non-carbon energy and basic science research, and some of that is something only government can do. In that sense, discretionary spending could be among the most important things government could do to help Americans create wealth themselves. And yet this is the only spending Obama wants to cut.
But the core challenge of this time is not the cost of discretionary spending. Obama knows this; everyone knows this. The crisis is the cost of future entitlements and defense, about which Obama proposes nothing. Yes, there's some blather. But Obama will not risk in any way any vulnerability on taxes to his right or entitlement spending to his left. He convened a deficit commission in order to throw it in the trash. If I were Alan Simpson or Erskine Bowles, I'd feel duped. And they were duped. All of us who took Obama's pitch as fiscally responsible were duped.

Hope you enjoyed the last couple of years - they were the best of your life. It will all be downhill from here thanks to hussein. More taxes, more debt, inflation, ongoing unemployment, an economy unwinding, fewer and fewer personal liberties and freedoms... Your only hope for a better life is to get rid of the tax-and-spend (or borrow-tax-and-spend) big-government liberals that want to control you in some Orwellian nightmare.
The crippling debt this man is piling on is immoral and worse than a war.

I saw more than one left wing freak posting elsewhere yesterday that this is what the Republicans are doing to the future. All they know is how to hate Republicans.

I tried warning everyone many times. Fell on deaf ears how terrible this idiot is.
It’s not only those under 30. There were plenty of those that were angry at Republicans and was going to teach them a lesson. It was media handpicking and cheerleading McCain. It was those that survive on the public teat. It was the black vote. It was the gullible that believed Obama’s lies. It was the hardcore leftists. It was the uninformed. And it was those that were too lazy to vote. There are many that gave us Obama, Pelosi and Reid I don’t feel sorry for any of them. They get what they deserve. And yes, these past years are the best they will see.
Even though I too did not like McCain and was pissed off at the GOP, that still does not mean I would ever bring myself to vote for a communist puke like obama.
I agree. I bit my tongue and voted for McCain, only because I didn’t want to regret not voting.
The state run media should be on trial for treason for the results of the 2008 elections. Anyone could start a rumor about Gov Palin, and there would be an army of reporters headed to Alaska.

I actually talked to a couple of libs via email who insisted Gov Palin said the “I can see Russia from my house” line and emailed them where it was Tina Fey on SNL. Then, I emailed them the clip of zero saying “I”ve campaigned in all 57 states, but may have missed one or two”.
They had never heard zero say that and were beside themselves. Got back a couple of [cussing deleted] emails. I told them “You have been duped by the media and are just fools like all other obozo voters”. They haven’t spoken to me since. Not much of a loss for me.
Sam here, I have a lost a few friends over this. But screw em, I dont want associations with idiots like that.

I’m about to write off my brother-in-law. We always have heated political discussions on facebook. Yesterday, he called Colonel Allen West a war criminal. That about did it for me.
