TUAW reader Aaron told the site "how an iPad belonging to a fellow employee handled being run over by the front and rear wheels of a Chrysler PT Cruiser," Steven Sande reports for TUAW.
"As the video shows, the iPad was in the standard Apple Case and the front glass was crushed quite extensively," Sande reports. "However, the Home button still worked and the rest of the components in the display were totally functional. The touchscreen still responded to gestures, and the accelerometer responded by rotating the screen."

Does the PT Cruiser still work?
If you want on or off the Mac Ping List, Freepmail me.
Impressive. I wonder how many of the iPad wannabes can handle such a beating.
The PT Cruiser, however, was a total loss.

Macbook Pro, run over by truck, doesn't work so good.
That doesn’t surprise me. Back in the mid 90s, I had a customer bring in a Compaq Prolinea laptop that had been run over by an SUV. THere were cracks that kept the case from staying open, but otherwise the unit was fine. $70 in pastics fixed it.
Buddy had an old PC tower that he used as a wheel chock in the garage, so he knew how far to drive in before stopping. No iPad ap for that!
Gay car runs over gay computer.....just saying
Well, the REAL story was that the iPad had fallen in love with the PT, and was chasing it. But knowing that their affair was abnormal, the PT showed that it didn't care for the iPad any more, and turned on it...
The iPad was just crushed...
My friend recently bought the Dell Streak (phone) and dropped it from belt height. Less than 24 hours after he bought it :p Cracked the screen, but otherwise still works just fine!
Quite a few years ago, a SFPD cop sent his laptop computer to my group for replacement, saying it was accidentally broken. This one was truly dead. It had a bullet hole through the screen. Says his gun accidentally discharged. Right... we knew how frustrated the cops were with the software in the field, having replaced other laptops that "fell" off car roofs and were run over.
