I know that a lot of fellow FReepers stream Netflix.
What are your suggestions for movies that may not have received the attention or respect that they deserved?
What are you those gems that are worth watching again?
How about that obscure movie that you tell people they should watch?
Bonus points for links, pics or video of the movie you are talking about.
I'll start;
Firefly - The complete series.
Nothing like a good old fashioned cowboys in space series. Excellent cast, tight writing and a fan demanded ending. Highly recommended.
Zombieland
Guns, zombies and jokes. What more can you ask? The normally nauseating Woody Harrelson at his redneck best. And seat belts, remember to wear your seat belt.
Centurion
A Euro production that got little notice in the States, it is one of the rare Romans vs Barbarian movies that actually makes you root for the Roman.
Well, those are the first few, what is in your instant queue ?

Rockford Files and Mystery Science Theatre 3000 (not all of them are streaming, but a lot)
The Asssassin
Fear in the Night (with DeForrest Kelley (Bones from Star Trek) well before he was famous)
The 7th Dawn
The Raven - quirky movie with Vincent Price and Peter Lorre. They are funny and also stars a very young Jack Nicholson
Holy cow, I just went to eat a salad and I have 100 suggestions already !!!
Keep em coming.
On my obscure list -
Following

A creepy Brit flic that combines paranoia and stalking into a new height.
Although not available for streaming yet, Pi was well worth a watch.

Some documentaries I liked were -
National Geographic: Inside North Korea
An amazing look at the power of the communist state.
Also -
National Geographic: Science of Dogs
A look at dogs from an entirely different perspective.

I tried out Netflix while they were having their ‘try us a month free’. Got three movies in a row that wouldn’t play
(even after cleaning as directed).
Cancelled it.
We get enough movies on cable anyway.
Defiance
The Firm
Jerry Maguire
The Pianist
Rainman
Babe
Rudy
Blazing Saddles
Scent Of A Woman
Get Shorty
Undercover Brother
Heartbreak Ridge
Rudy
Solomon Kane (which has a pro-Christian, anti-evil spin to it) and Book of Eli (guess what the “book” is..)..
I also recommend CENTURION (2010), no lib or conservative stuff to it. The blood and gore is pure entertainment. About the historical (of course movie version) of the lost Roman Army which ‘disappeared’ due to the Picts.
Expelled: No Intelligence Allowed (Ben Stein documentary about creationist opinion not being allowed in higher learning)
bookmark
1962. This one can dehydrate you.
Agreed.
Thank you! I’ve been at a loss for what to watch. I will definitely check those out.
Rush’s and William F. Buckley’s favorite:
The Lives of Others - about the Stasi in East Germany
or what life will soon be like under Obama
