ahhhh Parrotheads . . .
“fat drunk & stupid”
Only he isn’t any of the three.
Self-made man, shrewd entrepreneur, a millionaire 100s of times over, owns and flies his own jets.
Makes very fine music as well-—you might, say, give “A Pirate Looks at Forty” just a wee listen. Or “He Went to Paris.”
His politics are b-—s-— but at least the boy ain’t a bitter, ignorant loser, you know?
He’s a brilliant marketer.
Well, being drunk will do that...
My two year old grandson can carry a note better than JB.
Amen to that. The guy still surfs, flies his own plane, and has sailed all over the world. So the fat drunk and stupid comment is pretty ridiculous. He’s also done good stuff for the Wounded Warriors among other things. Plus he didn’t have me thrown out when I snuck backstage at one of his concerts many moons ago. Get well Jimmy.
Ah yes, he has his toys and money, but sides with those who wish to deny you an opportunity to have yours. Swell guy.
Some folks get jealous. They just can’t help it.
These leftist are really deluded. They think Obama can walk on water and..
Buffet believes he can fly!!
He is also incredibly hard-working on stage. About 15 years ago I saw him in Concord, CA. His warm-up act was having problems connecting with the audience (no, we weren’t being cruel, the kid was maybe on his first or second concert and shaky). Buffett came out, played rhythm guitar and totally revved up the band. The rest of that set was amazing, which just went to prove the kid (forget his name, sadly) really did have good music, just not good chops yet.
Then, intermission and after, Jimmy came out and did two more hours of his own stuff. Never wobbled, never forgot a line, bounced around like he was 21.
Don’t care about his politics, wouldn’t listen to him on the subject if he got started. Love his music and just wish he’d stick to singing.
He went “under” “down under”...
Latest from the JB Fan Club - Jimmy is alert and resting comfortably. Doctors say he has a concussion and will be hospitalized until tomorrow, but that he should be cleared to leave the hospital and travel home then.
To be nice, I'll leave it at that.
Large raised stages are very dangerous. It is easy to get blinded by the lights and get injured.
Hate his politics, ambivalent about his music. I hope he’s OK and makes a full recovery. He’s brought a lot of people pleasure, created more jobs than Obama and done some good charity work.
Back in the 80’s my brother and I fished commercially in Southeast Alaska and usually after a week of fish and rice with oreos and coffee for breakfast, we would head for Rosie’s Bar in the small village of Pelican. On the way in we would listen to Jimmy’s “Cheeseburger in Paradise” and life was good. My brother has been dead for eight years now and when I think of that time we spent together, Buffett’s song plays in my head.
My point was that he has brains and talent, which led to his money and toys.
You know, I have people in my life with whom I disagree strenuously about politics, many of whom (like me, frankly) got their politics early and maybe for reasons I don’t fully understand.
The best of them I will talk to about serious matters when possible, and sometimes we just avoid our areas of disagreement.
If they are simply flat-out disagreeable, or mean-spirited, then I avoid them. I’ll cut them out of my life, if necessary.
You want to avoid Jimmy Buffett, fine. You want to hate on him, I guess that’s fine too. You want to associate with people who are glad when someone takes a tumble off the stage, be my guest, knock yourself out.
But Buffett isn’t FAT, DRUNK OR STUPID. I’ve always enjoyed his music and appreciated the man. I know some of his family, and their politics are goofed up too but they are good, solid, charitable souls.
Best wishes to you, Army.....
Never said I hated him; I just don’t fawn over him.
He is a marketeer and I’ll give him that. He has made a mint from crafting an image. More power to him.
Hate his politics too, but really enjoyed his concert. He may have not been drunk, but the audience sure was. Part of the tie-ins were these HUGE margaritas being sold. Good businessman.
