I think my future purchases of equipment will be Ebay and Craigslist. I sort of got out of photography there for awhile due to the cost of equipment.

which service? I was watching the Marine Corpse mountain warfare survival training on tv today. Some of those things reminded me of some of the stuff I did when I was a kid playing in the snow...

I was at a gun show around 12 years ago. A guy had four Minolta Maxxum AF lenses on his table. I don’t know where he got them but he knew nothing about them. They were new in the box.
There were two 50mm f2.8 macro lenses and two 70-210 zooms. He had the 50mm priced at $50 and the zoom a little more. I bought one of each. When I got home and checked prices I could have kicked myself for not buying both the macros.

My favorite camera is the Minolta X370, with 28-70mm and 70-210mm lenses. I bought mine in 1985, and I still have it. I've worn out a ton of lenses, but the camera is still operational. It sits on a shelf with other "antiques" now.
For the last 6 years, I've been using a Sony F717. As far as digital camera's go, it's old school, but it still takes good photo's.

I bought a Nikon F2A back in the ‘70s, and I've stuck with Nikon ever since. It's also my good fortune that all the Nikon lenses I've bought over the years still work on my latest Nikon, a D3x, thirty-five years later. Some of those lenses produce better results in some situations than their modern versions, the 55mm f3.5 Micro-Nikkor, for example. Nikon SLR lenses will always work on Nikon cameras which makes them truly a lifetime investment, I expect to pass them on to my daughter when my time comes.
