I've bought 2 new cameras in the past 10 years, both died just after the warranty expired. I've done a lot better on Ebay, Craigslist and the local thrift shots.

I bought a thrift shop lens last week, an old Minolta autofocus 50mm f1.4, for 5 bucks. Didn't look at it good until I got home, it cleaned up like new and it turns out it's worth berween $200.00 and $300.00.

It's better than the lottery, LOL!

I caught Grandson Gerry with it today, about 3 more weeks and he will head out for basic training.<>P

Hey I take issue about being too smart for the Corp (sarc)....my sons are in the USMC....one them graduated with honor from GaTech in electrical engineering.....he is now in sig intell school....so he will have a job he can never talk about.....I wish your boy well, he is sooooo handsome....

Sort of a hobby. I do shoot wedding and other events.

My husband spends $$$ on cars, my thing is photography !

It's an old joke, some Marines I know even joke about not being smart enough to join the Army. Gerry has about 8 months coming after basic for computer school at Fort Bragg. I think he will do just fine.

I'm hanging in, just waiting for Spring.

I've scored a lot of cool stuff, but it's been 3 years of scrounging. Most thrifts shops around here are all junk
