Korean war Chinese soldiers boold did not spill in vain and may God bless them with peace.

One of the highlights of the state dinner was a performance by Lang Lang, a Chinese pianist who has been a sensation in music circles. Mr. Lang played a duet with the American jazz pianist Herbie Hancock, then a haunting traditional Chinese melody called “My Motherland.” In China, it turns out, “My Motherland” is better known as the theme from the film “Battle on Shangganling Mountain,” a 1956 Chinese classic about a Korean War battle in which a vastly outnumbered band of Chinese soldiers held off American and United Nations forces for 42 days. If, in retrospect, “My Motherland” might seem to be a regrettable choice for a state dinner, it clearly was unintentional. Mr. Lang, an American-trained pianist who divides his time between the United States and China, is an artist who melds American and Chinese cultures.

This is a typical Ogabe blunder that, had it happened under Bush, would have caused the media to rain insults on Bush’s head.

Yes, all that Chinese blood was spilled to turn a potentially functional nation into the world’s largest prison camp ruled by an insane power-mad family. But they’re communists (in name), so I’m sure that’s a comfort to the left.

Pure insanity.

However, the song was clearly intentional because the only value North Korea has is as a thorn in our side, and this was an instance of just that.

So what’s going to happen? Well, the Chinese economy is far more on the ropes than most people realize. When the bubbles burst, they’ll revert to economy through conquest. Japan? Taiwan? Nope - too much risk of a real war with us (if not now, then after obastard loses in 2012). North Korea who has become a thorn in China’s side? Yup - and we’ll all cheer. Bonus for China: that will solidify their place on the world stage as a superpower.

It’s almost inevitable.

The Chinese weren't outnumbered. It was 50,000 Chinese troops vs about 20,000 UN troops.

If the PLA had a less than 10 to 1 advantage, they were outnumbered.

I’m not surprised. It’s pretty hard to outnumber the Chinese.

You have to use the actual title of the article as the title of the thread.

ChiComs can do what they want. The rest of us have to follow the rules.

Consider it a wash. The CEO, Muhtar Kent, of Coca-Cola toasted Hu Jintao in Japanese.

I'll bet BO didn't get it either. It wasn't like he was speaking Austrian or something.

They were probably confused about Pork Chop Hill and thought they were outnumbered and held us off when it was the other way around.
