Remember the story of Hansel and Gretel? How the witch of the woods lured them into her edible candy hut and gave them piles and piles of free foodjust so she could fatten them up and turn them into stew?
Well, think about that old fairy tale the next time a waiter drops a plate of free food on your table...

This is the same guy from “Eat This, Not That” book that shows up on the Today Show. These examples were on the segment Wednesday.
I'd like to make a reservation for two, please.
What motivates me in the morning? ... My bladder.
Mmmmmm garlic, butter and bread. The most holy food combination ever. Stick, biscuit, loaf, doesn’t matter, if you mix garlic and butter and let it soak into a bread you just made something wonderful.

It would be kind of pointless to discuss luxury restaurants which are almost always local in a national magazine (this is actually from Men’s Health).
The Eat This Not That has kind of run out of good stuff to talk about. It started primarily looking at things that seemed healthy until you looked under the covers at the actual stats of the food. Like crispy chicken salad, it’s a salad with chicken, most folks will assume that’s healthy, but the chicken is deep fried and they almost always come with a very thick dressing, making them usually one of the least healthy things on the menu.
But they ran out of that kind of stuff to talk about a couple of years ago, so now that section just picks on stuff everybody knows is bad for them. Not nearly as fun.
That just ruined my happy hour.
So is it some law of nature that they all look delicious?

My weakness is the chips & salsa you get in Mexican restaurants. Total crack to me!

Sorry, we're booked solid until I need a liver transplant, but I'll pencil you in.

Now you’ve done it...it’s salad and breadsticks at Olive Garden for lunch one day next week ;) It’s all the way on the other side of town even (on the street with the worst traffic at lunchtime). That’s how bad you’ve made me crave it, LOL. My 3 y.o. will thank you, however.
This guy must be a real hoot to hang around with.
Doing well! Been pretty busy lately with winter projects while waiting for racing season to start...
I LOVE those! We don’t have a Red Lobster anywhere near us, unfortunately. Before we moved (eight years ago), we lived about 15 minutes from one. Those cheddar biscuits are addictive!
There went half an hour of my life drooling over that pie menu...
That should be “Chez”, not “Che”, mentioned primarily because the latter is also known as “Castro’s Butcher”.
That aside, you should invite Noumenon.
Now you’ve got me to thinking...
Perhaps a wee dram of the Bowmore when I get home. Or two.
I grow my own tomatoes, onions, peppers, and cilantro just so my wife can spend all summer and fall making fresh salsa for me...it IS to die for...
I’ve got a copycat recipe for the cheddar bay biscuits. My husband and I dip them in the drawn butter that would normally go with the crab or lobster. My oh my.
