Elton John and partner David Furnish may have fame, fortune and a loving family, but the 'Rocket Man' singer won't be satisfied until gay couples are granted the same rights as their heterosexual counterparts.
Last night at billionaire Ron Burkle's Los Angeles fundraiser to overturn Proposition 8, the new father had some choice words for those who oppose gay marriage, RadarOnline.com reports.
"I think I have it all," said the singer, who welcomed son Zachary via surrogate last month. "I have a wonderful career, a wonderful life. I have my health, I have a partner of 17 years, and now I have a son. I don't have everything because I don't have the respect of people like the church or like politicians who tell me that I'm not worthy, that I'm lesser because I'm gay, well f**k you!"
John performed a 90-minute set of both new material and his classic hits for the 750-person crowd, which included 'Glee' star Jane Lynch and her partner, Dr. Lara Embry.
During the event, which raised more than $3 million for the restoration of marriage equality, John continued to voice his frustration over the disparity between his rights and those of other parents.
"Here I am sitting with a wedding ring and I'm with my partner and we have a son, but we couldn't get married," he said.
Despite his joy over the birth of Zachary, John's road to fatherhood hasn't been without obstacles. Just last year, John and Furnish were turned down after trying to adopt an HIV-positive boy from the Ukraine, where civil marriages are not legally recognized.
John does, however, have hope for the future. "We have a right to be recognized as a human being. We have to fight the good fight," he said. "And we will win."
Elton..Elton...Elton!!! Such language! That's no way for a mother to speak! tsk tsk
:-)
He may think he has it all but he is not representative of the typical gay.
Let me know when we have the first case of a male producing a child after being porked in the butt by another male... then I'll reconsider my position.
Love and human feces on the sheets are two different things.
:)
YEP!!! But he is supposedly the 'best' at what he does. Rush has been had more than once in his life, but oh well, that can be said of all of US!!!
“The source for this is popeater......Think they meant Poopeater!”

Now you’ve gone and done it.
Given pudgy Eltie a boner.
Elton, tell that to God.
“We have a right to be recognized as a human being.”... You are recognized as a human being and you are loved as Christ loved but your lifestyle is unnatural and against what God said in the Holy Scriptures. You know it is inherently wrong to $crew another man. You just want the behavior accepted and Christians can’t. Sorry.
Didn’t he say he was against “gay marriage”.
You’ve hit the nail on the head. Elton has it bass-ackwards.
It is called .. too full of oneself
Blast Off, RocketMan!
It'd be kinda fun to see on Pay-per-view though... ;-)
I take my stand on the Word of God! I’m on God’s side!
Th Holy Scriptures teach us to: “Choose you this day whom you will serve; as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
“Because that when they knew God, they glorified Him not as God, neither were thankful, they became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” (Romans 1:21)
“F@*K You”...
You wish Miss Elton. Besides...I’m a married man.
Complain to God for not allowing either of you 2 queers to conceive, carry and deliver a baby.
What are they doing swanning around in LA with a new baby at home? They don’t give a rat’s behind about caring for their new born. Somebody call CPS.
I thought he was perfectly happy with his arrangement, and chided the Calif gays for being too hung up on the word “marriage.”
I notice he didn’t tell Rush’s wedding guests to bleep off while he was there...
Respectfully, no thanks, as I’d prefer to remain STD Free.
