Winter in Zion National Parklink
Winters in Zion National Park are mild, allowing hikers to experience many of Zion's trails in the winter. Some of the paths that get little sun might be icy, so check with the Zion Canyon Visitor Center before heading out. Use common sense and turn back if trail conditions are unsafe. Crampons are used by many who like to hike in the winter.
Winter Photography - Swirls of rock meander with pockets of brilliant white along Zion's main highway, the Zion-Mt. Carmel Highway (SR-9). Swelling storms fill blue skies with puffs of gray clouds, providing an ideal backdrop for dramatic winter photography. Along SR-9,trees hold their leaves year-round allowing for wonderful photo opportunities. The east side of Zion National Park is a winter photographer's dream. In Zion Canyon, along the Virgin River, leaves fall padding the ground and providing a winterscape to capture on film. The river is usually higher in the winter and there are waterfalls and mist that exist at no other time of the year. The winter photographer can capture a time in Zion when it is at its most beautiful and few are around to see it.

I just removed 4 more inches of winter from my sidewalk, and it is STILL coming down unabated!
Dear Savior Elsie! Don't send anymore global warming down here. We've had enough of it this year.
Great words!
