George Bush Saved Israel, again [Stuxnet Vanity]
01/17/2011 | Jewbacca

Posted on 01/17/2011 7:50:13 AM PST by Jewbacca

It appears Israel used the computer virus Stuxnet to destroy Iran's nuclear weapons programme as effectively as bombing it --- centrifuges appeared to be working propertly, but made a useless blend of U238/U235 and gradually spun out of control, destroying themselves. Futher, the software reported back and informed on what users actually did work, so the scientists could be given their virgin gifts early.

All the respect, Mossad!

As a bonus, the related nuke plant looks like a future Chernobyl, according to the Russians, who are too scared to flip the on switch, because of the many viruses hiding in its systems.

This targeted virus became possible because Israel got ahold of centrifuges that Libya gave up, so the Dimona wonks could figure out how to break them.

This is all well known.

But what has not been stressed is why, exactly, did Libya give up its nuclear centrifuges?

Libya gave up those centrifuges because Khadaffi became fearful that crazy cowboy George Bush was coming for him, just like he came for Saddam.

In short, Bush's agressive actions with Iraq and Afganistan scared the centrifuges out of Libya.

And thus, put in play the saving of Israel, yet again.

Thank you America, and thank you George Bush.

George Bush’ curriculum vitae will be around for some time. Hope-full it will fill some of the void being left by the current POTUS.

Exactly right!

Both the United States and Israel have reportedly studied Iran’s uranium enrichment laboratories in an effort to exploit critical flaws within Tehran’s nuclear program. Iran uses the P-1 centrifuge, built by Pakistan and based on blueprints stolen from Dutch scientists in the 1970s. The man who originally stole the blueprints, a Pakistani metallurgist named A.Q. Khan, illegally sold P-1 machines to Iran, North Korea, and Libya. At some point, Israel seems to have procured an unknown number of P-1 centrifuges and began testing them at the remote Dimona facility. In 2003, Libya surrendered its P-1 machines to the United States, which began working with the centrifuges and looking for weaknesses. The Stuxnet virus appears to be the result of these American and Israeli efforts to study the P-1.

The fact that the Islamofascist terrorists have not succeeded yet in their endeavors to massacre us in large numbers testifies to the strength and success of President George Walker Bush. The Islamofascists continue to try to annihilate Western civilization and likely ultimately will take most of Europe as a consolation prize, but President Barack Hussein Obama has done almost nothing publicly to resist them. I pray that President Obama assail the terrorists as ferociously in secret as President Bush did in public and certainly in secret.

If Stuxnet was a rock band, I'd have all their albums, and have pictures of me with the band backstage after the show...

What an amazing feat pulled off by Israeli intelligence. Ranks up there with the US Navy's bugging of Soviet Navy's underwater telephone lines decades ago.

You could just search keyword “Stuxnet” on FR

Even the NYT has covered this.

Of course, they didn’t close the loop to thank GW, which precipitated this vanity.

Any techies out there actually believe this? I don’t for a second. Even with the worst possible computer virus total recovery could be done in 36 hours. Worst case scenario, you remove all network connectivity and format all computers. What functionality does networking my computers do to allow or disallow the operation of my nuclear faciltiy. Even if my equipment was designed to operate on an internal LAN, I certainly don’t need it to be connected to any outside network. Perhaps a virus took them out of operation momentarily, but its just not magick.

I think you need to read up on how stuxnet works before you post.

Stuxnet caused Iran’s centrifuges to spin wildly out of control while simultaneously making it appear that nothing was wrong. The worm was possibly tested at Israel’s Dimona complex, the birthplace of Israel’s never-acknowledged nuclear deterrent, before going on to destroy approximately a fifth of Iran’s nuclear centrifuges. “The attackers took great care to make sure that only their designated targets were hit,” German computer security expert Ralph Langner told the Times. “It was a marksman’s job.”

Stuxnet destroyed the centrifuges. Can't 'unring' that bell by 'taking equipment of the LAN'. Calling all techies. An educational opportunity awaits.
