It’s supposed to be 83F in Los Angeles today. Life is good

In S. CA, it's 79 at 11:30 a.m. with unlimited visibility, sunny, a very mild Pacific breeze, and just a few cotton ball clouds drifting over the landscape, with is now covered with flowers thanks to all the rain...

at -30 F, I can still run outside with a t-shirt and grab something from the van without too much trouble, but at -70ish, skin freezes on contact with the air pretty much, you can’t leave anything exposed. heh. I’m pretty sure that’s why Canada has been safe all these years, the freaking cold temperatures... well and maybe a nuclear deterrent from our nice US neighbors never hurt:)

Alien: Moo moo, moo (We have experimented with all the beings of Earth,) Moo moo, moo. Moo (And we have learned that you are the most intelligent and wise)

Randy: What the hell are they talking about?

Cow: Moo moo? (Why did you turn some of us inside out?)

Alien: Moo moo, moo. Moo. (Oh, that was Carl's fault. He's new)

Alien Carl: Moo….moo…moo. (Yeah, sorry about that, my bad!)

I am in Houston and when ever the temperature drops below 40, the weather people on TV start with the warnings. Don't forget your coat it's going to be cold. Then when it plummets to near freezing they really start warning us to, cover our pot plants, bring the dogs inside, watch for ice on the road and on and on. The next level is a hard freeze in the 20’s and they tell us to let our faucets drip. I am sure the northerners among us are getting a huge laugh out of it.

“At the site, it is said that the owner was working with a veterinarian, and they likely had an infectious disease.”

If they had an infectious disease that dropped 200 of them in a day or two, without warning, then you can be sure the CDC is in there, along with hazmat suits.

One of the dopier things settlers did was bring European cattle to North America. Cattle have problems here, including problems handling severe cold weather. Bison and elk and moose have no such problems and would have sufficed.

I mean, it's POSSIBLE that plasma physics might be involved but without proof of that, I'd assume cold weather was involved.

I saw an article a few days ago about CO2 and methane seeping out of the ground and killing things. One was from injecting the CO2 into the ground and the other was from thawing permafrost if I remember correctly.

Oh, stop being so boring.

It was Klingons, or a time slip that aged the herd 20 years in a manner of seconds, or nanobots from a parallel micro-universe.

They could have been fed bad hay and it poisoned them. High nitrates in feed can kill cattle. We raise cattle in Wyoming. Have to be careful of oat hay. If we are going to feed it we have it tested for nitrates. I doubt it was the cold unless they had no water, or had been starving. I feel for the rancher..what a huge loss.

This sounds like the End Times omen eschatologists have been waiting for...i.e. the bovine 'Masada' prophesied in the little known pseudepigraphical Apocalypse of Elsie.

HAY!
