“Wow. I loved that show as a kid.”

I also remember the show fondly, as it was a family favorite.
David was eight years older then me.

Compare it to the garbage on TV today.

How poignant.

TV, in so many ways, captures not only the objects of our affection but ourselves in amber. Frozen in time.

David Nelson is a YOUNG teenager forever. As am I. When we hear of Father Time catching up to him, we see that B & W screen in our mind and just say “it isn’t possible!”

My Mom had the same reaction when I just told her the news, she thought he was much younger. God Bless the Nelson family

Yeah, really blew me away!

I can’t say that I even remember seeing him do any television or movies? Although I don’t know him, the quietness of his life seems to indicate a classy man. Hey Hollyweird, are you listening?

Still fun to watch the reruns when they show up on TV every now and then - such a guileless, civil time - another age - thanks and RIP, Nelsons.....

When Ben Casey and Dr. Kildare were popular shows, the fashion industry developed clothing for women, specifically white blouses that buttoned along the shoulder and down the side. If I recall correctly, they also came in colors, and I know I had at least one or two.

I was driving through East Texas that day on my way to Claremore, Oklahoma. I later learned that I must have been very close to where and when his plane went down but can’t recall seeing any emergency vehicles.

I am pretty sure I saw the DC-3 before it went down and before it seemed to be in trouble. Of course it meant nothing to me at the time and my memory is hazy.

Thanks for the pic. We watched that show every week. We also used to watch “The Life of Riley.” I checked and some of the actors who played the kids in the program are still alive. One of them is Meg Randall who played “Babs” Riley.
