I thought I read where assault weapons were against the law in Arizona.....How is that working?
As I stated in another post, if gun control laws work so well we should just have the Afghanistan, Pakistan & Iraq governments implement gun control laws and then the terrorist would never be able to get guns.
I forgot to put “sarcasm” in the other post for those who don’t get it.

Been in the military , been a Police Officer and a Corection Officer and owned guns for 35 plus years. Can someone tell me what high capacity ammunition is?

Loughner legally purchased his weapon – a Glock 19 with an extended magazine – from an Arizona store. The same kind of extended magazine was illegal under the assault weapons ban that expired in 2004.
“The ability to buy a weapon that fires hundreds of bullets in less than a minute,” said Quigley. “He had an additional magazine capability. That’s not what a hunter needs. That’s not what someone needs to defend their home. That’s what you use to hunt people.”
That must have been quite a magazine.

Well, just ask several people who live close to the border. When their homes were seiged by several gang members, carrying Mac 10’s, AK-47’s or Ouzi’s. Any NRA member or 2nd amendment defender, should shout this from the rooftops! Stop laying down and letting the Democrat Marxist Fascist pricks strip us of the very thing that allowed us to form a new nation in the first place.
Here again, it was not the lack of gun laws that caused this tragedy, it was the complete lack of morality and responsible behavior of the individual. These idiots cannot legislate the cause, even though they still believe that they can.

Isn’t Congress, Rep. Carolyn McCarthy a one trick pony whose issue has always been Gun Control since her husband was gunned down amongst others by an Other Than Caucasian nut case on a subway car?
If I remember correctly, the OTC nut case was even allowed to defend himself in court before the jury found him guilty.
She can try, but I doubt the Bill will make it out of the House.
And what specifically is ‘high capacity ammunition’? I’ve been around firearms all my life and that’s a new one on me.

Was he that skilled if in between magazines he had been grabbed by a lady?
