That's because I don't think Pens fans can read a sentence as long as “Crosby expects anyone who checks him to go into the penalty box, whereas Ovechkin is more stalwart in his endurance of the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune.”
Oh, well, that's why we play the game.

No, I too watched online...my daughter, her husband, and two of our sons were there. Went back for the practice session (and Dupuis wore a Stiller helmet:) )
Tomorrow, only daughter & s-i-l are going (but middle son’s gf’s dad is still hunting tix).
Been hearing they are strongly suggesting a ‘dahntahn Pittsburgh’ light up night (take THAT AlGore!!!) To showcase the City (they do the same for Sunday, Monday or Thursday night NFL games).
We are pretty jazzed here. I do have my ‘official’ NHL/MyronCopeTrust authorized Terrible Towel.

LOL!
FWIW - I have season tickets for the Hershey Bears. I've met several of the current Capitals players, including coach Bruce Boudreau.
That being said, I think Crosby is a better all around player than Ovechkin, even though he's younger. Sid has improved every year, while Ovi seems to have gotten as good as he's going to (looks like he's struggling right now).
Most of all, I think that Ovechkin will never be all he can be until he learns to be a team player.
Till then, he (and you) will continue to hate Crosby because he is everything you wish Ovi was.
And I'm lovin’ it ! ! !

Thanks for the ping, Airborne. Interesting turn of events . . . I assume they’re expecting the rain to taper off by 8:00 PM tomorrow in Pittsburgh?

Sometimes it stinks to have the second-best player in hockey. I think Ovechkin will improve, but he seems to develop later than Crosby.

The thing is, Ovechkin was drafted during the lockout, a year ahead of Crosby.
Because of the lockout, both started their NHL careers at the same time. But Ovi is, and will always be, older than Sid.
But Sid has been playing with the older kids all his life, and surpassing them at every turn.

How stupid is it to sing the Canadian national anthem for a game being played in the US by two US teams? Why not the Russian or German or Czech anthems?

Probably because it’s on Canadian TV. Besides they’re already mad about not getting a WC yet.
To: secret garden
IMO, the NHL has always been clueless when it comes to public relations and promoting the sport.
So I can’t explain why they decided to do the Canadian anthem.
Not the kind of weather I was expecting. The ice sucks.

Yeah, really bad ice.
So how was the goalie interference on the Pens' 2nd goal different from that one Caps goal?
Jeez The Bus and Franco look like they are playing shuffleboard.

So how was the goalie interference on the Pens' 2nd goal different from that one Caps goal? It's all in the mind of the referee. (if they have minds) ;^)

Talk about pond hockey!
Looks like the rink is flooded!
Doesn’t seem to be slowing down the Caps, unfortunately ...

F cindy crosby. He is far and away the biggest whiner cry baby in the league.
He has great skills but unfortunately plays like a punk. F all of the Canadians who put him on that pedestal as well.

Ah, but who keeps winning head-to-head? Caps.
Note to the Pens: It is considered good manners to shake the hands of the opposing teams after a big match when you lose. It's not just when you win.
