Dominique Buttitta wanted to get married in style, so she spared no expense on her upcoming nuptials: $30,000 to reserve a banquet hall outside Chicago; $11,000 for flowers and spot lighting; $10,000 for an orchestra; $5,000 on her wedding dress and veil.
As Buttitta excitedly continued preparations, the costs kept mounting. Then, four days before the big day, her fiance called the Oct. 2 wedding off.
With such short notice, she could not recover most the money she had spent so the 32-year-old lawyer is suing. In a civil suit filed a few weeks ago in Illinois, she accuses Vito Salerno, 31, of breach of promise to marry and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Shes seeking more than $95,000 in damages, plus the costs of filing the suit.

The way I heard it was "whenever I get the urge to get married I just find some woman who hates my guts and buy that b*tch a house!"
Remember, this is prenuptual.
Take the same girl and add 55 pounds, a dirty floral moo-moo, a perpetual bad attitude, and a bad case of PMS...then make your decision.
You’re absolutely correct, and I’m old enough to know better, LOL
...doesn't mean I'd marry her though.
Me too...been there, done that.;-)
Hopefully for the now former groom there’s no Mafia Don in the background wanting to have a chat with him.
I don’t even need to read the article. Pay her and get it done. It’s probably far, far, far less to take care of it now than it will be 5 seconds after saying “I do.”
It was easier in the old days - just have your brothers go over and break his legs for despoiling her virtue.
This gal looks like she is good at spending money.
However per long established FR protocols....
“Guilt” is established based on the currently available evidence rather than future projections. And personality/IQ/criminal intent is never allowed to be considered, LOL.

Is he gay?
Gosh. I don’t think I spent $1,000 on my wedding - maybe $600, and I thought it was turning into a circus even at that - 46 yrs. ago.
Bargain! Cheap! Pocket change! Couch cushion money! At least it is that way AFTER the marriage. As far as paying this gal now? Before hand? Nah! She made a boo-boo.
The guy is obviously right in wanting to get away from this woman. I suggest he have some fun with her if she wants to do things this way. Depositions can be fun. I'm sure he can ask some interesting questions. How about emails or chats? Maybe he has some "private" photos. Post it all. I suggest that he be as outrageous as he can and maybe he can leverage all this publicity in to some cash. Who wants to buy the movie rights?
She is a lawyer and she is pushing her weight around. Never be afraid of lawyers. None of them are as smart as they think they are. If they were they would be doing something creative or be able to produce something. They are ALL bloodsucking liars so be the same way back. He really could have a good time with this.

If you meant marrying, you think incorrectly, youngidiot.

He should have sued her for stupidity.

and a car and half your stuff and half your paycheck forever and your balls on a plaque and your reputation and your peace of mind
Oh, yeah. This guy got off easy!
You know those guys sleeping under the bridge? Half of them are former investment bankers who got divorced.
I believe that was Ron White who said that. The late Sam Kinnison said, “I quit thinking about marriage because I got tired of giving away half my $#!+ every five years to someone who hates my guts.”
