I am trying to relax and watch Star Wars on a beautiful Christmas morning. However, my enjoyment quickly turned to disgust and I had to send the children out of the room and change the channel.
Star Wars, obviously an American icon and children's favorite, was interrupted every 8 minutes or so, to sell female self pleasure devices, i.e., vibrators. When they were not selling vibrators, they were selling some kind of lubricated condom guaranteeing his and her fantastic pleasure.
Now keep in mind this is in the morning, before noon, on Christmas morning during Star Wars.
Who is more likely to be watching Star Wars on a Saturday morning, Christmas morning? Children? or sex perverts?
I can only make the logical and natural assumption that Trojan and Spike TV are intentionally marketing these products to children.
I am a grown man and these commercial were grossing me out. I know what women are doing with that penis shaped vibrator. While I don't mind when it is 'in context', it is not something I want to think about on a Saturday Christmas morning while trying to watch Luke and Hans fight Darth and save the princess with the kids.
These commercials should never air before 10PM and never on a Saturday morning during children's programming. It is just simple common decency. What is wrong with these people!?
I am a grown man and far from a 'prude' but this just disgusting and it ruined the movie for everyone. Next time, I will just rent it.

A depraved channel that prays on the lowest-common-denomenator (I agree I like the Original Star Wars), and Spike likes to bill itself a channel for men, but it is really just a channel for grown-up perverts most of the time. (I believe it owned by Viacom, the same that own G4, MTV, CMT, CBS, VHI, Nick and others).
In related news, the girlfriend wanted to go see it. When I “begrudgingly” mentioned the hot lesbian sex scenes in said movie, she changed her mind.

Reminds me of when I was trying to watch a movie with my dad one time on one of these cable channels and every damn commercial was for either birth control medication or “male enhancement” pills. This is why I don’t do cable or satellite. Why should I send $50 a month in support of these classless idiots?

Sir I don’t have cable or dish or any paid form of tv and I get all of the advertisments you just spoke of. They are on regular network tv that comes in one’s home the old fashion way, or should I say by that new fangled box. Either way it is not just paid tv. This person has a valid point on the comericals and how racy they are. I NEVER saw anything this racy 10 or 20 years ago. Now it is anything goes. Now it is all day or all night.
Heck I remember a time when a live model could not pose in a bra on a commerical! Jane Russell was selling the Playtex 18 bra and there were maniquins modeling it on the stage while she “wore one” under her dress! This was in the 70’s I believe. Now women bounce around in all kinds of bras panties from Victoria’s Sectret and it looks like porno!

You want society to conform to your ideals. That’s true of the left-wingers, too. Both you and them think that your particular ideals are more righteous, and that makes it okay for you to restrict the freedoms of others.
As was mentioned many times on this thread, all he had to do was turn off the TV. But he (and you) expect broadcasters to meet your ideals of what should be on cable TV stations (which aren’t even part of the public broadcast spectrum).
