LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- An explosion was reported at a closed gas station in the 1400 block of Dixie Highway.
Louisville police said several people reported an explosion at the corner of Dixie Highway and Standard Avenue around 12:15 p.m. Thursday.
The explosion damaged a truck.
Officials said a man was using a chainsaw between the gas station and another building and the sparks set residual gas fumes on fire.
There were no injuries reported.
According to Louisville police spokeswoman Carey Klain, Steven Askew, the man with the chainsaw, was there to steal piping.
Askew, 48, is charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and first-degree criminal mischief

Strange pic! Tree cut down with an axe and the dog is licking the sap, I presume.

I was thinking the tree was cut down by a beaver and something was spread on the break for the pup to lick and VOILA! a strange photo!

The cuts on the stump and the chips on the ground are too big for beaver teeth.
Typical tree damage associated with beaver activity

When I was a young man I saw quite a few beavers, thankfully not one of that size.

Your last post...top picture...I wonder where that is? Looking at the fact there is absolutely no small trees (for eating), which explains why they ate the bark off the oak in the background. Not much nutrition in old bark.. Those guys are hungry.
Chewed down big trees in the winter is a very uncommon sight to see. Normally they will stick small branches in the mud below the ice for a winter food source.

Answered in FReepmail. ...I don't want Janet Napolitano to know where I am off-grid so-to-speak...where I lost ALL my firearms in a unfortunate canoe accident while paddling across the beaver pond. ;(
Some of the pests can get all artsy-fartsy with their chompings....

I’ve seen that kind of thing before. Mental problems caused by arsenic poisoning, I think.

I am wondering if two beavers were chewing on that tree at the same time? It certainly is different.
