Some game, huh? Outdoor football returns to Minnesota! (even though it was a blowout loss).
Oh, and give Brett Favre a hand for trying. (clap clap clap)
Oh, and give Brett Favre a hand for trying. (clap clap clap)
Headline: “Favre Gets Clap”
Score ?
40-14 and the Bears lock up the division title.
Were there any Muslims at the game there in Minnesota?
I dunno, but there probably were some at the Vikings-Giants game last week (Detroit has quite a few Muzzies).
It really hit me when the announcers said that the sack on Favre might be his last NFL play ever.
Just because we know our iron men will eventually rust out doesn’t make it easier to see it happen.
Good to see Da Bears back in the drivers’ seat after all these years. This team looks like it has the same joi de ‘vive of the legendary Ditka Bears.
Bittersweet night and it isn’t fair to say otherwise.
Bret, I love ya man, but dude you need to get a hobby, other than the one of texting cheer leaders your genitalia.
Favre has the clap?
That's a new development!
And he only said he was "texting" LOL!
“Good to see Da Bears back in the drivers seat after all these years. This team looks like it has the same joi de vive of the legendary Ditka Bears.”
The thing is that the Bears had finished 7-9 in 2009, so they went into this season without very high expectations. 2010 was supposed to be the year of the Pack, but they have too many injuries and neither the discipline or cohesiveness to be a serious contender.
Now the ‘85 Bears were a bit different since they were coming off an NFC Championship run in ‘84. Typically, a SB winner gives some warning the previous season or two. With rare exception; the ‘81 49ers had come off of two 2-14 and one 6-10 season.
Devin Hester is one amazing player. If ever goes up for free agency, he’ll be able to command huge $$$. That kid can RUN!
“Good game in the cold.”
Yeah, I thought to myself “Now that is real football.”
And why do the Saints and Cardinals need domes? It never snows in Phoenix or NO.
All of the men were bundled so much as to look like they were wearing burquas, with nothing but their eyes showing. :)
You woulda thought it was cold or something...
Humidity, man I would much rather watch a game if freezing temps then in the deep south without A/C.
I guess in the cold, you can always bundle up. There were a couple guys in the audience with purple body paint and no shirts on, though.
Regarding the Cardinals, Sun Devil Stadium was pretty bad early in the season. They haven’t had a blackout since the new place opened, though. I still don’t know why the Saints need a dome, since the three Florida teams all do fine without one.
I usually don’t watch but did tonight. It was great watching the game as it was meant to be played. I even think the fans got into it.
Just get rid of that stinking Astro Turf!!!
“I even think the fans got into it.”
They certainly seemed to. There was one guy that got arrested for running onto the field, and some were holding a sign that read “IT’S COLD!”
Some blow-out. Take away Hester and Gould and the came would have been a lot closer. Cutler cannot get the ball into the end zone. bears should have won this 80 to 7. Cutler is a strange head case. He might be brilliant or he might be lousy. You never know who is going to show up on any night. I thought Webb showed up the nonsense of the cover-2. Smith should have been fired years ago. Urlacher’s heart almost stopped on the called-back interception. Huffin and Puffin!
Interesting reference to those teams of the 1980s. What you’re seeing now is one of the downsides of free agency and a salary cap in the NFL — in that you don’t have to build a team over several seasons anymore to win a Super Bowl. Nowadays it’s much easier to go from 4-12 to a Super Bowl contender because you can just go out and sign a bunch of quality free agents in the off-season to fill your roster.
hester was and is amazing...quite a record after only 5 years! and I think peppers may be one of my new heroes...what a player! culter is inconsistent but there is no doubt if he can get his head in the right place and settle down he can be great...his pass to knox and the one he threaded were brilliant. it was great to see the bears defense solid as the ryan-ditka days...but I sure miss the class sweetness brought to the game in general...so many dancing grandstanding punks these days...if you got it, you do it and you don’t act like a fool when you do....
