Thank you for posting this. America was a hell of a lot better place before the aCLU crawled out of the primorial sewer.

There are just so many things to juxtapose in this story against today's American society.
Overall it leaves you with the feeling of something lost that you may never gain again.

Madalyn O'Hair sued the government over the Apollo 8 Christmas broadcast. She lost, but NASA has walked on eggshells WRT bible passages ever since.

Any number of historians point to the 1969 Apollo moon landing as the high point of the American experiment.

Let us hope and pray that they are wrong.
However, our current trajectory, a downward spiral fueled by non-judgmental political correctness, suggests that they are not.

Yes, I still have hope for the future, if we can just tame this government monster we have allowed to take over our lives. .

The hospital was closed to visitors. My wife was in delivery mode and I was sitting at home waiting for the doctor's call. I watched the Apollo 8 coverage. As the crew finished their bible broadcast the phone rang. I had a daughter and both Mom and child were doing fine.
The next day when I visited them I was so excited. I had the perfect name for my daughter.
APPOLONIA!
Alas my wife was not a space geek.
To this day I call my daughter Lisa "My most Appy" girl friend!
