We know that the New York Jets are a team that likes to be loud and proud about their exploits. They're a team with a lot of swagger even when things are not going well, which they haven't been of late. Less than a week after losing 45-3 to the New England Patriots on Monday Night football, Rex Ryan's bunch lost 10-6 to the Miami Dolphins, and did so in a much more embarrassing fashion...
Go to this link for the rest of the story as this video must be seen to be believed. A member of the Jets coaching staff deliberately trips a Miami Dolphin player who is running up the sideline to cover a punt return.

Already, sports radio in both cities (NYC and Boston) are going nuts over this. I guess the Jets are never going to have the moral high ground again as whenever Jets fans bring up Spygate, Patriots fans can retort "Well at least our coaches don't deliberately attempt to injure opposing players."
Chances are, the Jets coach involved will be fired from the organization and the NFL will hit him with a stiff fine and banish him from NFL sidelines for at least the rest of the season, if not a lifetime ban.
That’s nothing. I saw Woody Hayes punch out an opposing player for tackling one of his guys
Yeah, he leaned into the player. He also apologized profusely after the game.
Stay classy Jets fans!
This is nothing and looks unintentional.
Looks to me like the player tripped over his OWN feet, not the coaches.
He has admitted it.
Yes, I remember that incident, it was at a college bowl game during the 1970s and it basically ended his career. If I remember correct, Woody had a long history of “anger-management” issues.
the coach has apologized profusely, so he must have done it intentionally.
That does Not however answer the question of what was the dolphins player doing that far out of bounds on a play like that.
I saw him move his leg, but you’re right the dolphin was WAYYY out of bounds. The player had to be be close in order for the trip to work. The guy only moved his knee about 6 inches.
Didn’t happen. D was out of bounds, way out of bounds. No movement of the guys foot. No, he didn’t remove his foot, but he was standing off the field. The D ran into him if anything. Move on. Nothing to see here.
Well he admitted it and spent hours after the game profusely apologizing to all those involved. Not only that, but reports are that he was escorted out of the stadium before the game was even over by security. He's in a world of trouble this morning.
...you don't apologize for something that's not intentional
Except that if you read the story, you’ll see that the coach admits it and apologizes. It was intentional.
You must have seen a different video. :-)
Besides it being clearly visible on the video, he has admitted it and apologized.
So, there can be no doubt.
Yes, agreed. The contrails are just like those of a guy tripping over his own feet.
I would say a fine plus the coach has to pay for the time and money out of his own wallet it takes to recover from this.
ha! Nicely done.
