1. Guns! Shotgun most commonly a simple 12-gauge pump (20-gauge if weaker-statured people will be using it.) Pistol If you live in a state where its legal to own/carry a pistol for self defense, then you should be doing it. Battle Rifle Were talking those mean, state-of-the art, misnamed assault rifles. Mines in .223 caliber, and I make no excuses for it. Its accurate out to long distances, accepts a 30-round magazine, and puts out a high rate of suppressive fire. And make sure you have plenty of ammo. (Were talking thousands of rounds. No one ever came out of a firefight saying Darn, I wish Id had fewer bullets!) 2. Water 3. Heat 4. Food 5. Medical supplies 6. Power and Lights 7. Communications 8. Transportation 9. Entertainment 10. God

Yeah, I and some others took this to long term.
I did say I would eat the deer, squirrels and opossums first. I’m not that big an eater; they ought to last a couple weeks.
And at the lake I would need to run out of fish, ducks and gators before I started hunting dogs.
Well that’s good to know ;~)
Thanks, the line of sight is a problem in this area with hills, lots of trees and buildings.
I may get a second unit to go with my Christmas gift.
Agreed!! The list of must haves can be overwhelming but a vest is on my list too. Prepping is a continuing process,at least for me it is, and I’m always thinking of something else I need to do or get or learn.
In a TEOTWAWKI situation that is about all I could do. I don’t plan on leaving my home, I’ll stay and fight or die trying, and at my age I need all the help I can get.
If there is a bread line, GET IN IT. If you don’t, everyone knows you have supplies and you then become a target.
HORRIBLE advice!
I totally Agree with your point on this particular issue, not a time to mingle that’s for sure!! These are serious situations that we need to plan out and discuss ahead of time with our mates. It’s crucial to know what each expects to do in as many of these situations as possible. Have a plan both can agree on.
I like that website. I built a small generator based on a Honda-powered pressure washer that one of my idiot neighbors was throwing away (rather than fixing the seized pump). Used an Epicenter direct-drive alternator mount, along with a big voltage inverter and battery. Makes a great supplement to my larger genset.
“11. A smokin’ hot wife that cooks better than most professional chefs, loves on demand, and can shoot better than me, damn it. I am the luckiest guy on earth...”
Oh, rub it in you dog......
Doc, You’ve got it backwards. #10 should be #1. Without Him you butt is done for before the shootin starts. Put Him first and soon everyone knows there’s a new sheriff in town watching over your house.
It would be a necessity, pretty safe to assume anyone who was gunning for you would have them. Especially if it’s someone from the government.
>>Ill eat the dog if it comes to that....red<<
Be sure to de-worm him on a regular schedule or else you’ll be taking his pills.
A good post!
I have the parts to one of these too. All safely stored away...
Braggert ... if she’s so great, why’d she settle for you???
That is kind of low.
Sort of like this:
1. God
2. Guns!
Wow! Thats sort of just like the Constitution. {Coincidence? I think not} :-)
And for the record, I cling to both guns and bibles, of which I have several.
{But dont tell anybody}
Hypnosis-by-mail lessons paid off.
Hmmm. I’ve been married twice. I’m gonna have to look into that mail-order lessons thing.
I reccommend purchasing a couple hundred soft point rounds, for closer in use ... transfer more inertia to the impact.
The only hollow point or softnosed .30cal I can find is reloads, i.e. I’d have to buy all the reloading equipment to do it. All I have is FMJ’s.
