Hidden letter fulfills Offutt wish

Brooke Lewis bounded up the old house's front steps, extended her right arm and received the wish that she wished 20 years ago.

“Hi!” she said, shaking the hand of Anne Lisherness, one of the current occupants of Brooke's old home on General's Row at Offutt Air Force Base.

“Hi, welcome to your house!” Lisherness said. “Come on in.”

As an AF brat I could totally relate....I felt like that growing up - knowing that in 2-3 years there would be another move. I didn’t think it was such a great life then, now I just realize how lucky I was to have been able to see the world.

Thanks for posting, it is a neat story.

I promised my kids that they would all go to the same high school - for all 4 years.

I only had to retire to meet that promise, but they did all go to the same HS - least I could do after all they put up with during my time in the USAF.
