This Existed? New Creationism Theme Park Plans To Put Dinosaurs On Noah’s Ark

Yesterday, Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear announced that his state’s Creationism Museum will soon be joined by a creationism theme park named “Ark Encounter,” making Kentucky the unofficial creationism capital of our 6,000-year-old world. Some of the “edutainment” promised by the park include a Walled City, a Tower of Babel, and a “500-foot-long wooden replica of Noah’s Ark” that, as was revealed in the press conference, will feature dinosaurs.

A representative from Answers in Genesis, the group that will operate the theme park, stepped in yesterday when Gov. Beshear was asked by a reporter, “Will there be dinosaurs on the Ark?” The representative, who seemed better prepped on the issue than did Kentucky’s Democratic governor, replied,

"Well, you know the position of Answers in Genesis so you can probably answer that yourself. We’ll have appropriate animals on the ark based on—I’m sure we’ll have representative kinds of animals on the ark, to include dinosaurs."

True. See post #80 :)

Betcha didn’t know...

The basic footprint created by the ark is reflected in the river barges in use today.

Furthermore modeling has shown this design to be one of the most stable and seaworthy of all modern day ocean-going vessels.

Have you seen the fossil evidence of a dinosaur footprint with a man’s footprint embedded in same?

Perhaps you’ve heard - many animal species will hibernate during extreme periods of stress, hunger, & de-hydration.

More than likely that there as only one continent before the flood. See hydroplate theory which connects more dots and makes more sense than plate techtonics.

I think the gap theory fits better.

Which also sounds like my ex-wife. I couldn’t get her up in the morning with a stick of dynamite.

I believe the Berlin Institute of Fossilology has just such an example:
They found human DNA between the toes of a preserved dino footprint.

Of course. Pangaea broke apart after the great flood which I believe is alleged to have occurred roughly 5K years ago.

An event that all accepted principles of geology and physics demand must have taken place over a period of billions of years, actually happened in what - several thousands years. Yep, that's believable.

Sorry, I'm going to have to stick with the accepted theory of continental drift. I'm crazy that way.

I'm beginning to think your ex-wife and my mother-in-law are the same person. You wouldn't happen to be 76-year old guy named Enos, would ya'?

I don't believe that they are. I'm sure that would create a legal fight they wouldn't want to invite.

RobRoy ~ The maximum weight for a living creature to fly under its own power is approximately 35 lbs.

Wolfstar ~ Ummm...the Great Bustard bird has been known to weigh up to 46 pounds reference here. So there goes your "physically impossible" claim right off the bat.

I think Arrogant Bustard flies and he weighs even more...

No it doesn’t. What it means is that I got my number wrong. 46 lbs is still a far cry from “over 200 lbs”. ;)

Presumption ... there have been plenty of extinctions since the flood.

No it is NOT a presumption, there is more than one place where it is recorded this earth was flooded before Noah's ark. Genesis 1:2, Jeremiah 4:22-26 Nothing survived that flood. and IIPeter 3 says the heaven/earth age that WAS perished by water. You know what, two of these places say that God's children are 'sottish', means stupid, and willingly ignorant in regard to what happened in Genesis 1:2. Job 38 on is asked by God just where was Job when God form/created/ and hung the constellations... as well as that great behemoth.

Weight is not the determining factor. If it were, our huge aircraft couldn't fly. Form is the determining factor. For example, Pterosaur bones were hollow and air filled, like the bones of birds. They had keeled breastbones that supported flight muscles and specialized respiratory systems. Even the brain region that integrates signals from joints, muscles, skin and balance organs was larger than that of any other known vertebrate -- 7.5% of total brain mass as compared to 1% to 2% in modern birds.

They existed. We have their bones and other fossils to prove it. They did not exist 6000 years ago or less no matter what "creationists" insist to the contrary.
