Just in time for Christmas

LET US FIGHT IT OUT

Has been released!

Brief Synoposis

The saga shifts west as General James Longstreet assumes command of the Department of Mississippi. His mission: stop the fall of Vicksburg and prevent the Confederacy from being split in two. His opponent is none other than his old friend, Ulysses S. Grant. But when President Lincoln summons Grant east to assume command of the Union war effort, a new and dangerous nemesis arises in his place. Sherman! Now Longstreet must gather all the fighting men he can in order to prevent Sherman from reaching his goal - Atlanta, by summer's end.

Let Us Fight It Out is the second book of a trilogy that provides the exciting answer to the Civil War's most enduring question: What if Stonewall Jackson had survived Chancellorsville?

Just had to brag!

Personally, I think that it would make the perfect Christmas gift for the Civil War Re-enactor or Buff! But that's just me!

I love Stuart. (When I was at the MOC, I thought to myself...would they really miss the hat if I just took it home with me.)

Thanks so much!

If Jackson had survived, the first thing that would have happened would have been a victory at Gettysburg. Unlike Early, Jackson would have immediately occupied the high ground, and the battle would have been a replay of Marye’s Heights.

Very cool. Travis McGee published his three novels and used many on FR for input and as reviewers. His novels came out great. Good luck with yours!

The first book of the trilogy </i>Throw Away the Scabbard</i> looks at that very question, but answers with Jackson’s invasion plan from the winter of 1861 and 1862.

Congrats. Writing for a living has to be one of the hardest professions on the face of the earth. I’ll check it out.

Depends. Lee had plans to divide the army into three corps long before Jackson died, so it's impossible to say that it would have been Jackson coming in from the North. Ewell could still have approached from that direction and Jackson could have been coming in from the west, as Hill did. Or it could have been Longstreet coming in from the west and Jackson not arriving until day 2. You never know.

The South simply could not replace their losses of good officers. Jackson’s death left a fatal hole in the command structure.

If Jackson I had lived, the ANV would probably have been still had just 2 corps. Ewell was sent to Pennsylvania first to see if there were enough supplies to sustain the army. Once that was determined, he was sent to Harrisburg. Would Lee have still done that? If so, would the faster moving Jackson had reached the city before the Union army crossed the Potomac?
