Two Chicago brothers say Southwest Airlines made things too difficult for them when it required one of them to buy a second ticket.
The twin brothers were headed to Minnesota to visit their aunt on Thanksgiving night when one of them was told he was too big to fit in a seat and needed a second ticket.
The 18-year-old brothers had no cash or credit cards on them so they called their aunt in Minnesota.
She tried to purchase the second ticket over the phone but with no luck. She was told because they couldn't verify that she was the person on the credit card they couldn't sell them the second ticket and would have to miss the flight.

Dude. People worry WAAAYY too much about crap. I can’t believe you had that little worry floating around your head all this time. This is why we have liberalism. It’s an extension of worrying WAAAYY too much about crap like that.

A guy next to me in a class stank of B.O recently. I kept edging my chair away from him. I HOPE he knew why. BE NORMAL. It’s an AWESOME policy.
If that lady knew how disgusting she was, it would motivate her, rather than tiptoeing around her telling her it’s OK she is a whale.

I have often wondered if, after the plane is in the air, the pilots notice the thing flying lopsided or something and
then have to trim it by transferring fuel from one wing to the other.
“Umm...Hey Bob.. do a cheeseburger trim for the right side”.
As opposed to buying a disposable credit card at a drug store or just walking up to the counter and paying cash.
Again, she was a sweet young teen girl. She had enough emotional crap to deal with than for me to push her over the edge and make her cry the whole flight.
If it were a smelly fat dude I would have not been so nice.

Kindness and liberalism are not the same thing. TSgt did the right thing by being kind to this overweight teenage girl. You can blame the girl for causing her own problem by overeating, but the girl probably already hates herself and likely was embarassed for the whole flight. Expressing disgust might motivate her to change...or to jump off a bridge.

I’m 285 pounds, 5’9”, and have never had a problem with Southwest myself. I fit, at least.
We were told that we had to show a driver’s license to board a plane. That would make us safer.
Had to do it since the 1980s. Except that was something the airlines wanted so that you would not buy a discount roundtrip fare ticket and sell one way passage on it to save even more money. I once flew a one way trip on a roundtrip ticket (did nothing with the rest) because the one way fare was hiked up that much. And then they OVERSELL the seats on a plane (hey, can I get “standing room only?”).
Didn’t make us one bit safer on 9-11-2001.
Additionally, there have been several notable cases where DMV workers knowingly provided legitimate driver’s license IDs to illegal alien middle easterners AFTER 9-11 in exchange for payment to look the other way and approve some documentation. One was murdered within 3 days of her arrest in the plot.
We should be showing internationally recognized passports or nothing at all to board domestic flights. Ask for the credit card when you pick up your ticket but nothing else.
And they know who I am when I buy the ticket on line?
The name on the ticket would match the CC.
I've bought tickets for my wife with her name on the ticket and mine on the card. My folks bought us gift tickets and often buy a ticket for my grandmother when she flies with them. I've even had a ticket transfered from my mom to me as a gift.
Doesn't matter who bought it, as long as the person using it matches ID to the name on the ticket.
I’ve got nothing against fat people. Some of my best friends are fat people.
But I don’t want to be squeezed between 2 fat people in a center seat on an airline. Ever tried it?
