The one needed 12 stitches in his lip after being hit by an elbow while playing basketball with friends. Poor baby.

Jem, I don’t think she will. We’ll see by the end of this weekend. If she’s no better, she will never get better. Poor thing, she is confused, weak, has stuff stuffed down her throat, is force fed. We’ll see. I just wish she could say something and tell us where it doesn’t feel right.

There was a spot on tv about coffee in Indonesia selling for $50.00 a cup. WOW!

I am so sorry. We all know that days like this are inevitable, but it hurts.

THE POWER OF THE DOG
Rudyard Kipling
There is sorrow enough in the natural way
From men and women to fill our day;
But when we are certain of sorrow in store,
Why do we always arrange for more?
Brothers and sisters I bid you beware
Of giving your heart to a dog to tear.

Buy a pup and your money will buy
Love unflinching that cannot lie--
Perfect passion and worship fed
By a kick in the ribs or a pat on the head.
Nevertheless it is hardly fair
To risk your heart for a dog to tear.

When the fourteen years that nature permits
Are closing in asthma or tumors or fits
And the vet's unspoken prescription runs
To lethal chambers, or loaded guns.
Then you will find--its your own affair
But--you've given your heart to a dog to tear.

When the body that lived at your single will
When the whimper of welcome is stilled (how still!)
When the spirit that answered your every mood
Is gone--wherever it goes--for good,
You still discover how much you care
And will give your heart to a dog to tear.

We've sorrow enough in the natural way
When it comes to burying Christian clay.
Our loves are not given, but only lent,
At compound interest of cent per cent.
Though it is not always the case, I believe,
That the longer we've kept 'em the more do we grieve;
For when debts are payable, right or wrong,
A short time loan is as bad as a long--
So why in Heaven (before we are there)
Should we give our hearts to a dog to tear?

Over the years, it has helped me to adjust to the loss of my dogs. I still miss Tippy.

That coffee must be “Kopi Lewak”, the most expensive coffee in the world.

Stay away from it. Just my advice, but the beans are fed to civets. When it has been processed through their digestive tract and the excreted, the beans are then gathered and cleaned (!) and then sold.

Think about that for a minute.

I don’t like coffee in general, but knowing what I know about it, YUCK, YUCK YUCK!

Good morning!

I can't get to the main forum page or access my pings. I got here but going to my history and clicking a link from there. Big sigh.

Exactly. They are embarrassed, like Jem says, they are closet muslims.

One of our high school cheers in rural Oklahoma, long before pc, that also applies was (Yes, I know, hard core redneck lol):

"Whomp! Whomp! Whomp 'em up side the head! Hey...Hey...Hey!"

"Whomp! Whomp! Whomp 'em up side the head! Hey...Hey...Hey!"

"Whomp! Whomp! Whomp 'em up side the head! Hey...Hey...Hey!"......

LOL!

Good Morning!

Snow on the ground here in central Wisconsin, but temps climbing into the forties, should take care of most of that white stuff.

My daughter, my wife and I helped serve Thanksgiving dinner to veterans on Thanksgiving day at one of the local pubs. It was our honor to do it.

One young woman, with her three children, almost left because she didn't know if she belonged, stayed for dinner. (Her husband is serving in Iraq...) We couldn't do enough for them.

Another elderly couple came in. We took care of them as if they were royalty. (They actually were better than royalty.) The husband stormed the beaches of Omaha, on D-Day. (He was in the first wave.) His uniform that he wore that day is on display at the World War 2 Memorial in Washington D.C. What a treasure it was to serve them as well.

It truly was the highlight of our day!

You are right, that couple is America’s royalty. What a great Thanksgiving Memory.

We had a light frost here. I haven’t yet gone outside to see how my roses fared. My tomatoes should be alright as they are in the basement.

When does your daughter go back?

One Unbelievable Season

The opening nine seconds shows a portion of our eagle flight which happens before most home games (somethings there are weather reasons or health reasons which may decide against a flight) and the last several seconds was taken of Toomer's Corner this Saturday after we celebrated the night before. It has been cleaned up somewhat.

I'm pinging the Auburn War Eagle list.
