How Does Palin Overcome These Issues To Win Presidency?
Vanity ^ | 11/24/2010 | Patrick1

Sarah Palin seems to be the favorite of the majority of Free Republic members. I still have not made up my mind about her. But if she is the consevative movement's choice to take on the disaster of Obama who has gone from The Messiah to the Mess then there are things that she will need to overcome to get 50% plus one of the American people's vote in 2012. I've listed the ones I hope her supporters can address here because failure to take these issues on will result in certain defeat.

all she has to do is what she is doing....she was great on Greata last night...she has brains and beauty and balls, everything I want in a female President.

We need a candidate who can demonstrate a grasp of classical economics. Reagan did. Coolidge and Harding did. In the gap between those administrations JFK borrowed someone else’s understanding of it and it did not affect other issues. Eisenhower had good instincts but probably no formal understanding of the subject.

“I have to disagree with you on that. I don’t care for a quitter. Yes, she did it for the money, there is nothing wrong with that, but she most certainly didn’t have any altruistic reasons for leaving the gov.s office. I would prefer some one with a little more experience running the show. I think we can all see that st style over substance isn’t working for us now.”

This just might qualify for the most assinine post of 2010 on Free Republic.
Geez!!!

That is probably true. 8 fat years followed by a clueless elitist.

Teaching To The Test in a lot of schools is the only reason the classic 3Rs are taught at all. My wife is a public school teacher and she used to hate it. Now she understands its necessity.

Scratch David Petraeus off your list. He made it very clear that he would not run for president.

Tentatively:

Bobby Jindal
Sarah Palin

Petraeus I don’t know anything about.
Crist doesn’t belong on the list at all.
Giuliani is at the bottom.
Romney does not belong on the list because he is too much a chameleon to characterize by principles.
Gingrich is not a conservative and has social and personal big problems that won’t get him by a conservative electorate.
The rest are moderate-to-nice guy and would be, at best, GW Bush without the drive.
Christy should be in there but he would have to make some solid pronouncements and show some actions on social things. He is the one who could pull that off as Reagan did and be believable.

I forgot Ron Paul. I like him but for foreign policy and FP is awfully important. If we could do a real seismic shift to pure freemarket and totally stable money then we could get out of the rest of the world pretty much, but that economic transformation has to happen first. If The earthquake came and I thought he could do that, he would be my man.

Her quitting as governor is an amazingly distorted issue. She was being targeted for legal assault by both the Alaskan left and the RINOs for her balls-out attack on Alaskan political corruption. She had hundreds of ethics complaints filed, all of which were thrown out, but the legal expenses began to build up, threatening to bankrupt her.

They became such a constant distraction that she felt she couldn't both answer the legal complaints and fulfill her role as governor. Having performed better inside of 2 years than most governors could over a lifetime, she stepped down.

Her approval rating at the time, with full public knowledge of the ethics complaints filed against here, was 90%

Sarah will overcome and win in 2012, I believe that without a doubt.

McLame, as you call him, is the only reason she has a political superstardom. He gave her a stage. He made her a millionaire.

Really.

Then why have none of the other former VP nominees ever risen anywhere near to her current level of political superstardom? McCain was dead in the water until he nominated Palin. Suddenly, she was the one bringing the crowds and the fundraising and the volunteers. He put her on the stage but she is the one who has made the most of it then and since.

Posts like this are why the Palin critics who bash Palin supporters end up being the mirror image (and beyond) of the traits they say they dislike in Palin supporters. Your cynicism drives you to deny what is obvious and to state what is blatant bulls***.

And BTW, my mind is not made up about Palin - but I ain't gonna bash her and her ardent supporters while I make up my mind.

I am one of her earliest supporters but still think you ask reasonable questions. The “she’s a quitter” meme will be a big one. I personally think it was the practical thing for her to do. I believe her when she says she & her staff couldn’t do their jobs because of the frivolous law suits. There will be those who never buy it.

I am concerned about over exposure. She’s flippin’ every where! LOL. I think she needs to gradually & carefully start granting more interviews beyond conservative outlets and stay focused on issues & get off the “press was mean to me & my family” wagon. We all know they were but it turns off a lot of people. We can do it for her.

But, you know what? I don’t waste my time worrying about it. She’ll do what she has to do when it’s time to do it. She knows exactly what she’s doing.

All of these things can easily be overcome by hiring the same team that does all of Apples marketing.

1. BHO served 187 days in the Senate
2. Same said about Ronaldus Magnus
3. See #1 and why should the governor of Alaska’s policy statements get carried in the lower 48?
4. Please define “Presidential”. Truman mowed his own lawn. Lincoln sat around telling jokes. Washington started a world war by mistake. Reagan sold Borax. Carter grew peanuts.... an on and on.
5. Her base is white men who represent the one demographic that carries elections according to Gallup.
6. Many of the 2008 independents were republicans who were fed up with McCain on immigration and Bush on TARP. They returned to the GOP when the GOP returned to conservatism in 2010 pushed there by the TEA Party.
7. Have you listened to any thing she has written or said? Life without government interference from birth to natural death; liberty to pursue economic prospertity without excessive taxation and government regulation; and the pursuit of happiness free from fear of terrorists or the nanny state.

Do you have a second question?

I wish we could shift the focus of this debate not to how unelectable Palin is, but to how unelectable OBAMA is!

Focus on this clown’s ineptitude. We’ve got all the data and examples we need of how bad another 4 years would be ...focus on that and ANYONE could beat him. We need to GO AFTER this failed presidency!!!!

It doesn’t have to be all about Palin!

So you want to let the communist MSM choose our candidate? No thanks.

We need to defeat the communist MSM in 2012, not surrender to them.
