A former music teacher from Orange County, California, has insisted that she did not have under-age sex with a 15-year-old student.
Charged with sexual misconduct, Carlie Rose Attebury, 31, told jurors that she was not sexually interested in the boy.

She said she was very close to her students, and so involved in the lives of her marching band students that she went to their other extracurricular activities and took to calling them 'my kids'.
The unnamed former student, now 18, has testified that he and Miss Attebury kissed on the night of El Modena High School's homecoming in 2007, and eventually had sex several times at the teacher's house after she moved near him.
Prosecutor Katherine David said in her opening statements that Miss Attebury 'treated this student as if they were in a boyfriend-girlfriend relationship'.
Miss Attebury denied the allegations, and said she did not even realise she was moving near the boy until she had already relocated.
Miss Attebury admitted sexual encounters with two former band students at parties she called 'kick-backs' at her apartment, but said both were 18.
She faces seven felony counts that include unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor younger than 16, and dissuading a witness from a crime.
The last charge stemmed from calls Miss Attebury made to the boy after her arrest, in which she asked him to change his story, prosecutors alleged.

Wher were all these horny female teachers when I was in High School? As far as I can remember, all of my High School teachers were men. I guess that has changed.

In my Senior year I had a student teacher in my German class and she was drop dead gorgeous. She was only four years older than me and had a thing for men in uniform or those going into the military.
Since I had already signed up and was going active duty after graduation she actually put the moves on me but I was too naive and nervous to hook up with her.
A little bit later she started dating a guy in my class who was going into the Army.
One of those missed opportunities that you will never forget.

...18 was just too old I guess. Bad habits start to kick in. Nose buried in the paper, flatulence, forgetting anniversaries, late nights out with the boys etc.

Don't know. It's definitely a new phenomenon. Of course, I had nuns in grade school and high school, so the thought never even crossed my mind. Now, some of these public school teachers dress like they're going to the club.
After analyzing over 30 hours of complex testimony and evidence I am close to formulating what I believe to be a fair verdict. I’m guessing that a ten minute meeting with the defendant will do much to convince me of her innocence, or maybe not......
