PITTSBURGH -- Raiders defensive end Richard Seymour has been ejected for an openhanded punch to Ben Roethlisberger's face as the Steelers quarterback was celebrating a touchdown pass.
After completing the 22-yard throw to Emmanuel Sanders, Roethlisberger jumped into the arms of tackle Flozell Adams. Roethlisberger then began walking forward and appeared to say something to Seymour, who turned and struck the quarterback in the jaw with his open right hand.
As Roethlisberger went to his back, lineman Chris Kemoeatu grabbed Seymour. Both Seymour and Kemoeatu drew penalties, but only Seymour was ejected.

You can watch the replay. It does look like Ben is talking, which makes their statement literally accurate, he does appear to say something.
You are exactly right. In fact, I don’t think that Ben said anything to Seymour. It looked to me like he was looking past Seymour talking or shouting to someone forward of Seymour. There were a bunch of bodies there and it looks to me like Ben was walking towards someone (possibly another lineman??) saying something to that person, and it looks like he puts his hand on Seymour’s shoulder pads as if to say I’m coming by and then Seymour turns around and smacks him. Seymour has a history of angry outbursts so it’s no surprise he does this.
Love or hate “Malibu Ben” - Richard Seymour’s behavior does not belong on a football field. Period.
You can't be serious. Ejected for trash-talking? First of all, how are they going to enforce that? Have everyone mic'd up?
If you can't keep your temper under control in the heat of the moment, get off the field.
He is not a rapist. He is a two-time alleged rapist. One time the security tapes were conveniently destroyed, and the other lady seems to be a publicity hound.
An open handed slap/push to the faceguard with possible chin contact is all I see. The stupidest thing Seymour did was possibly risk a broken finger. Ben took a World Cup dive.
Because he wears his stupid baseball cap backwards.
It's a sure sign he's capable of limitless evil.
And you can bet both times Ben’s lawyer visited the lady in question with a large check in hand.
Most of those fouls were bogus calls. 1 guy gets called for helmet to helmet when his helmet hit the targets back, 1 guy gets called for ripping somebody out of the pile (who knew that was against the rules) and he never went into the pile, another got hit for roughing the passer for so little contact that even the ex-QB doing color for CBS said the rules are getting stupid. These calls were worse than during the Bengals game (pass interference when the defender never touched the receiver before the ball hit the ground, and roughing the passer for being pushed into the QB by an o-lineman).
But the Steelers won anyway, so nobody will pay attention, and the myth that no bad calls go against the Steelers will continue.
I see BR put his hands on Seymour FIRST - from behind while “celbrating”. “Yippee - look at me!!!!!”
Unsportsmanlike conduct.
I guess Seymour made the call the refs don’t have the balls to call.

On the show “The Wire”, 2 detectives were trying to put a tracking device on this guys car so they pulled up alongside the ‘dude’ wearing his cap with bill to side.
The white cop looked over at the dude and asked where he could buy a ball cap with the bill on the side. While the ‘dummy’ was trying to explain to the cop about the hat, the partner got out and placed the device...
It was a lot ‘funnier’ watching it but you can kind of visualize and get the drift....<:
The rules are simple, if a player gets seen even trying to throw a punch they’re out, any smart player on the receiving end of that SHOULD dive like Greg Louganis just to maximize the chance that the ref sees it. But the penalty isn’t for the effect, it’s for the intent, the instant Seymour started swinging he broke the rule, which is an automatic ejection.
Maybe because he's never gone to trial. You know that whole 'presume innocent' thing.
Steelers and the Raiders — two teams with reputations for dirty play. What did people expect?
Raiders aren’t nearly as dirty as their fans.
I can't stand either one of those teams going back to the 1970s. Removed my next comment to save a mod's time
unless you HEAR the conversation...don't assume... JMO
