PITTSBURGH -- Raiders defensive end Richard Seymour has been ejected for an openhanded punch to Ben Roethlisberger's face as the Steelers quarterback was celebrating a touchdown pass.
After completing the 22-yard throw to Emmanuel Sanders, Roethlisberger jumped into the arms of tackle Flozell Adams. Roethlisberger then began walking forward and appeared to say something to Seymour, who turned and struck the quarterback in the jaw with his open right hand.
As Roethlisberger went to his back, lineman Chris Kemoeatu grabbed Seymour. Both Seymour and Kemoeatu drew penalties, but only Seymour was ejected.

So the rapist finally got a “smackdown” and we should be upset......really.
I hoped I was going to make it in before the first person acting as judge, jury and executioner uttered their oh-so-funny “rapist” comment, but alas, I was too late.
I hope this jerk gets suspended.
Also, the refereeing in that game was HORRIBLE. Oh, what do you know, head Ref Tony Corrente is a lifelong California resident.
And you know he’s a rapist, because?
About time somebody smacked Princess in the face. Obviously when he faceplanted into that woman’s car, it didn’t knock any sense into his head.
I’d kinda curious what it was the the rapist said that got him put on his keester?
“Roethlisberger then began walking forward and appeared to say something to Seymour”.
Well, what did Roethlisberger say? What was said probably played a big part here.
I’d like to know what Rothlesberger said to Seymour. Ben had no business running up to Seymour and jawing in his ear after that play. Clearly Ben said something to agitate the guy. They should have both been ejected.
Your remark so unnecessary...poor phony-girl.
Doesn't matter. If you're not disciplined enough to refrain from punching someone who's talking trash, you deserve to be ejected. Everyone in the NFL knows that an actual punch (open or closed fist) will get you tossed.
I thought the same thing. Seymour’s reaction was so swift to whatever Rothlesberger said that I wondered what the hell he said.
And I agree - the officiating was absolutely awful.
I missed the trial and conviction, could you post a link...
You know that he is a rapist because you were there?
Could you tell me, since you are omniscient, what tonight's number will be?
Thank God someone finally hit him!
Agreed. Punch, slap, whatever should get you ejected, plus a fine, plus a suspension for a couple of games.
But if Roethlisberger provoked the incident, he should not have been allowed to just walk away.
And by the way, to those folks who get all upset when Roethlisberger is called a “rapist”, I would say where there’s smoke there’s fire.
If Roethlisberger was just a poor victim of circumstances in that bar, would the League have suspended him? Would he have accepted the suspension so readily?
If your good name was tarnished unfairly, wouldn’t you fight the charge?
An open hand sounds like a slap, not a punch, except if you are wearing pink cleats.
And you don't think he is a rapist, because??
As far as the NFL is concerned, it's a punch and an automatic ejection.
Trash-talk back, get into a shoving match, whatever. Maybe draw a personal foul (or, more likely, offsetting fouls). But you don't smack or punch an opposing player.
He didn’t really “run up to” Seymour. There were a bunch of Steelers in the area and Seymour, and they were yacking and celebrating and Ben was moving forward, towards more Steelers, and Seymour hit him. Not really sure what Ben could have said in that 2 seconds that made Seymour that mad, but it didn’t go on long enough to warrant ejection. Looked like only two or three syllables tops, to get ejected for talking you’ll have to really push it deep into gross and probably racial territory, I don’t think Ben had long enough to go that far.
