And then last week, he went home and was watching a game when a new commercial for "Call of Duty: Black Ops" came on his television. Seen through Walker's eyes, the content was bad enough. A woman in high heels, a hotel concierge, a guy in a fast-food worker's outfit -- they're all shooting automatic weapons and rocket-propelled grenades in an urban warfare setting.
He was already disgusted, but about halfway through the spot, Walker did a double take: Wait! Wasn't that Kobe Bryant?
Seriously, is that really Kobe Bryant carrying an assault weapon with the word "MAMBA" on the barrel? Did Kobe Bryant, the highest-paid player in the NBA, take money not only to advertise a shooting game but actually shoot -- or simulate shooting -- an automatic weapon while doing it? None of his people, not his wife or his agent or someone in the NBA offices, advised him against this?
"I couldn't believe it was him," Walker says. "What's wrong with him?"

FPS games have come under a lot of heat lately. The military shooters seem to be getting the most heat. It seems to be coming from the PC left, under the guise of concern for children... I got news for them... Adults are the major buyers of these games. They’re actually marketed to young adults, but a lot of us older guys play as well.
I belong to a gaming clan that plays several different FPS games on Tuesday and Saturday evenings. There’s 30 of us and the youngest is in his early thirties, the oldest is 69. Great group of guys and great fun. The darn games (like COD: BO) cost 60 bucks or so for crying out loud. So, if kids are getting their hands on the game, it’s the parent who buys it for ems fault. That or they’re getting pirated copies of the game, which just goes back to lack of parental supervision.
Great game, great commercial, and good job by Kobe.
I laughed when I saw Kobe too. Very well done commercial. I’m a gamer as well, but my taste is more towards fantasy and TBS games.
I’ll admit that I’ve hated the Lakers for most of my life, and I equally hated Kobe earlier in his career. But it seems like he has started to mature a bit, not take himself so seriously, and display a more honorable attitude in the last few years. That Olympics thing made me rethink my negative feelings for him. Seeing him in this commercial did give me a good chuckle.
Is this satire?
BTW, the bed-wetting, libtard pusses at ESPN can bite me.
Remember the Rogue Spear spinoff from Rainbow Six? After online play of RS died off with the team I played with, it was great fun to abuse the game system offline.
Remember the oil tanker that you had to take back from the Japanese Red Army or whoever they were?
First- I'd pick out my teams. I hacked the HK-69 grenade launcher to be full auto with a blistering rate of fire and unlimited magazines, by altering the inf file that governed the weapon's characteristics. I equipped the entire team with them. I'd go in game and turn on the Invulnerability code. Then I'd invoke the code for massive heads, feet and hands. Then as a last touch- the code that allowed them to um, break wind.
Trust me- the last thing a bunch of commie terrorists are expecting is a full-blown assault by a horde of farting zombie bobbleheads with automatic grenade launchers.
They probably wouldn’t like MAG much either. I play it, I’m loud and quite rude, and I’ve been in the top 100 killers in the world; tops kills just get higher, and I have nearly 102,000 of them.
What is it with Liberals and first-person shooters? Would they rather we do Airsoft?
I think most NBA players are on booty duty, if you know what I mean.
If they want something to be mad about, be mad about guys with numerous kids with numerous women.
The game is fake, the fatherless kids are real.
Who among us didn’t see this coming?
The real question is ... what percentage of the anti-gun hand-wringers were as upset when he either (1) raped a girl in Colorado, or (2) had an affair with a girl in Colorado?
Even if he didn’t rape the girl ... an affair is more problematic than a commerical with a gun. Few Americans ruin their lives or relationships with grenade launchers ... far more do with unmarried sex.

lol... Dude! That’s awesome. Please tell me you FRAPs’d that and have it on YouTube :p
No I didn’t, but given a weekend with nothing better to do, I could probably recreate it. That was several computers ago :-)
